Listen closely at 7:50 it someone says "What if I just made little sound effects along with that?" Just something interesting, I wonder if that's Buckethead's non Herbie-ified voice or a tech or something.
So, any idea where they sampled the Computer master part? The second time it comes in, you can clearly hear a reggae tune come in before buck rips. I imagine that it's a Lee Perry tune that came out before '92, but that's a LOT of ground to cover.
I worked 9 hour days, and went straight to the hospital to care for my Grandfather for 2 months, no day off, no night off. This song kept me moving with the groove. When I was gave out and ready to give in, 5:01 PUSHED me and MADE me keep going - like pure energy left on tap to take a hit of. Also kept me going another way-after 2 months of not playing, with no practice, and wore slap out, I won the biggest pool Tourney in my area-when I was pooped I gave the solo a listen, and red2go win!!!!
@Teaglex93 Man, I HAD to learn it the day I heard it...Funny thing I found, "Ghostbusters" song has bits and pieces that use the same fingerings as the solo main riff. So I learned two with one stone, you could say!
@Luxmaxnike Unfortunately I don't know, I'm just almost sure I've heard it somewhere before, but it's killing me the fact I don't remember where from......
Wow bucketboy's so famous now, i remember when all there was, was bingeandgrab website and that was it, only reason i got to see him is that he was touring with primus. I guess the gun's N roses gig's gave him that exposure to make that leap into itunes and what not. Good for him, but still this album was the first buckethead album i had, aside from a praxis tape a friend gave me, i was 12 when i heard this, 13 years later and the delay/feedback still makes me trip out before acoustical lick.
Geez! I have never heard this song, I leave to do something in the beginning of the song, comes back to hear the part at 5:03, and BOOM! My head explodes!
More people should listen to this song! I just find it upsetting that as music progresses through the future this will become 'just another song' cast away into the pages of history to be forgotten. I'm gonna make sure that all of my decendents pass this CD down through the family so that one day, amongst all the new music of the future, the words 'Computer Master' will echo on for many ages to come.
This album was the first Buckerhead I ever heard,It was a hot guy I met at 4-H camp, it was 1996 we were both C.I.T's he had long hair, dressed like a rockin roll hippie & wore one purple high top & one green high top he was the most fasinating male specimen I ever seen! He just took this double disc CD out of nowhere & pressed play. From the moment I heard this music it blew me completely away & forever changed my perception of music for the better.
It is bass, slap bass, wrong effect, it's not auto wah, it's an envelope filter. Either way, it's mostly his slap bass technique doing the work for the sound, he could do it without the envelope filter, but it makes the funk sound.
@Larsmop perteh sure that "bass" is actually buckethead playing percussively on guitar.. although he does play bass its more likely that hes using his guitar with...i forget the effects. there are a ton of vids were he does it
i think the two worst buckethead albums are this and cobra stikes 2 they both hav the random sounds and its really annoying. the only song i like on this album is intro park theme.
That's kind of how this entire album is, lol. As amazing as he is, almost the entire album is random sounds/guitar shredding.
In fact, the only real songs are Park Theme (Intro), Giant Robot Theme, Giant Robot Vs. Guillatine, Hook & Pole Gag, Funeral Time, Computer Master, Virtual Reality (P. 1 and P. 2) and Home Run Derby (Main Theme). This may seem like a lot, but keep in mind the album has 40 tracks.
