Funny that you called it "therapeutic". That's what I call a nice, light game to play after my group forges through a hardcore night of Descent or Arkham Horror with expansions I also call it "decompression". :)
My parents (ie, not gamers) had the original 'Game of 99' and played it as a partnership game when having other couples or relatives over. They played it so much through the 70s (and 60s probably - before my time) the cards are worn out. Gotta play partners!
