@erdoganog do you know why traxxas have their engine replacement plan? because the engines suck so much. its the same as how a tmaxx cost traxxas 179USD to build and cost you 459 in the shop.paying for the name... only good thing traxxas will have is the slash... and not the 4x4 as it blows ass so bad. and also that 3.3 has like the biggest rev limiter on the planet, wears out quicker then anything else. try a picco .21 over the 8.0... waaay more power
@erdoganog well if the picco .28 has the power the rip apart gearbox's im sure the .21 will be fine... if the 8.0 had any sort of power it would do the same... the 8.0 struggles to pull wheelies, even the like the k4.6 wheelies on demand. lrp .28-30 will roof any truck everytime u hit the gas. u never see vids of the "great 8.0 power" thats because it doesnt have power.
See your mistake is your talkign about competition status. of course its a stock mgt engine nothing special not meant for competition but it does have its down low power

@erdoganog i own a mgt8.0 like 3 months old. i also own savages. the picco rips apart the 8.0s box... put a .28 picco in there an watch it rip it apart after a few runs... and no dont have a rich tune. get all the power u can from it an watch it destroy ur truck. i have huge issues with the picco ripping apart my savages one too. but i dont use the 8.0 anymore it just gets wrecked easy
that savage engine aint gunn last long sounding like that. its supposed to sound inbetween a 4 stroke anda 2 sroke and smoke well through high and low revvs. sounded like the lsn was too lean so turn our a 1.8th to a 3rd.
@warhead250 ive done did that with the HPI goliath wheels on my xl runnin a .32 axial. i got all three of these trucks and i got to say i like the xl best.
were do you get your facts the proline tires that he is using has less surface area and is a harder compound tire than the soft more surface area mgt tires get your facts straight you dont know what your talking about kid ... oo and btw the mgt is a turd a big steaming fresh turd you beat one of those like a savage and well you wont have a truck and trust me i know

my buddie just got the savage 4.6,and alot of people we shred with have savages.I do have some Traxxas stuff like the 3.3, but i decided to go out and get me the new mgt 8.0! Not only is the thing very, very fast,it is also very well built and very easy to work on.I see alot of people having a hard time changing batteries on the savage,not on the mgt i have them in and out in under 2 minutes! and the spur gears couldnt be any more accesible, thats if you have to change them(steel)i give it5stars
Savage 4.6 is my beast custom things on it the only reason why somtime revos beat them.is A. Tires
B. Weight savage much lighter- less traction on dirt
C. Not meant for pulling lol
How can a 3.3 beat a 4.6cc engine it cant :)

8.0 wins in pure torque. However.... MGT is $80 more than savage x 4.6
If you use that $80 to hook in a three speed tranny to the Savage the Savage will win in any drag race.
The 8.0 is a heli engine: Tons of torque, no RPMs Plus I an seeing a traction issue here...

the 4.6 from HPI will take down a picco .28...
heck even the 3.3 traxxas engine will take down the .21 ....
the 8.0 will take down all of them in down low rev torque and hp
8.0 gets it max hp at 15,000-18,000 RPM and max torque around 10,000-15,000 rpms.......
