I gotta tell you man, this is one of my absolute favorite southern spirituals, and favorite songs, and most times I hear it I don't care for their version. I love this man, almost a southern folk cross with Irish vocal style. Love it man, keep up the good work, would love to have the chance to sing this with you.

You have a really pretty voice and the music in this song is really cool..Bad part is that the song is an old negro spitual and your version is far from the original.I think you need to soften the guitar as to not drown out your nice voice, less salsa sound..Have to stay in the realm of it's origin.I doubt those people had that upbeat tempo in mind while picking cotton.I really do like it, should be haunting........

Wonderful, as always. If you haven't already, you should check out Michael Parks. He had an album in the 60's called "Closing the Gap" and starred in TV show "Then Came Bronson". You can hear him singing "Wayfarin Stranger" acapella as a duet with Bonnie Bedelia. But check out his other songs - some great traditional American western songs that I think would speak to you.
