  • if you wrap your sevos in fiber tape before you glue them into your model... you can recover/open the servo by peeling the tape off....

    just a pointer :)

  • @tbvdb its brilliant. You can use it as a trainer or up your rates and have it doing all kinds of tricks :-) also very good at taking knocks!

  • @Djsp01 Ok, I bought and built it, and it is amazing!!! Thank you very much ;-) I uploaded a video on my channel too, it's a night flyer :) I had an easystar a year ago, which broke (I used the motor for school project), and a few weeks ago I picked up a sim, and now I can fly good with my swift :D

  • Hi 5 mins in you put dads of glue on the pushrods how do they not stick to the wing? have you oiled them?

  • @946HZJ , i forgot to include the part where i put the white sleeves on the rods, its the sleeves i am glueing the the plane. i hope you understand what i mean. lol cheers.

  • yes you are right, futaba r617fs. I use them on all my planes, just got the funjet ultra!

  • What kind of receiver are you using ? In your video it seems to be a Futaba R617FS.

  • Glugun glue adds a lot of weight. A light coating of permament spray mount glue with masking tape to get clear edges where you put the crossweave tape on will help it stick and if you iron it at just over 100C afterwards it seals it completely giving you a stronger plane and a flat finish.

    You can use UHU type latex contact adhesive to stick the wings together and winglets on and it is lighter and more flexible than glue gun glue or epoxy.

    If it's windy you wont care about building it light.

  • Enjoy your swift, are you using it for slopes or with a motor? When I get time I will do a video for a slightly modified powered version which includes using a 3 cell 2200 lipo and moving all of the servos, battery and speed controller on to the top of the wing which stops the workings getting broken on landing. Until then I suggest using little runners (plastic) underneath next to the servos (servo savers) we call them. Good luck and happy flyng.

  • Just want to say thank you, I'm putting my swift ll together tonight. This is my second attempt at putting a RC model together (the last was a balsa wood gentle lady) that one was lots harder, however I still didn't want to screw this one up as badly as I did the last one. So thank you again. I'm just a beginner so I'm not ready to fly the swift yet but I couldn't help myself, I had to put it together.

  • pretty much the same but with a motor put on the back and a speed controller :)

  • yes, but a glue gun is a lot quicker and you can slide the wing and winglets into position a lot easier. We are currently working on something which should make the wings more responsive and faster, look out for our next video :)

  • wait... how do u fly with out thrust?? and how does it gain alttitude?

  • sorry, thought i had replied, the thrust and lift come from the face of the hill and thermals. Search for "indoor slope soaring" to see what i mean by "from the face of the hill". i hope this explains it ok.

  • Thanks for a great video! It makes it look soooo simple! I'm going to build one of these soon, but with a prop on the back. I'd have never thought of using a glue gun on styro to be honest, but then I'm just a beginner. Love the music by the way!!

  • happy to hear you liked our little video, we too are new to flying, we have had these for about 2 months now and they are brilliant. hot glue is soooo easy to use but you just have to be quick when putting the pieces together. The music is just something i knocked up on music maker 14. cheers.
