I love Megadeth megapurify and they are one of the best bands out there and yes, their interpretation of thrash metal and Dave's riffing made them unique and they are indeed technical, some of the best musicians ever, from Marty Friedman to Vinnie Colaiuta, played for them. This is one kick ass song. The 1988 Germany performance of this song is the best in my opinion. THat and the studio version. Notably the remastered version of SFSGSW. I would like to see the entire album released in Paul Lani mix. Those mixes are the best in my opinion. The final 1988 SFSGSW album sounds a little dry. No big bass sound. Personally think KIMB and SFSGSW are the only albums that needed to be remastered. The rest of MD catalog should have been left alone.

I never likes So far so good. This album is generic for me. From the 80's Megadeth albums, this is the worst. But the rest are gems. Definitely songs like Devil Island, Last Rites, The conjuring, Killing Road, Wake up Dead, Five Magics, will be essential in any megadeth concert.

Being technical isn't necessarily part of thrash metal, which was born as a mixture of hardcore/punk and heavy metal (New Wave Of Briitish Heavy Metal, to be precise). Slayer are simple too and they ARE thrash metal. So are Nuclear Assault. So are Venom, arguably the band that started it all. Metallica's first 4 album ARE thrash metal indeed, and thrash metal masterpieces at that. The other stuff isn't, Death Magnetic has some thrash songs.

@Stick9512 Venom are thrash with heavy metal parts dude, the fast alternate picking typical of thrash was created by them and then perfect by early Metallica, early Exodus and early Overkill, three bands who released the first PURE thrash metal demos ever, but that sound can be traced back to Venom. Black metal is based on minor chords and tremolo picking, it's got nothing to do with Venom, they had satanic lyrics and called one of their albums Black Metal, that's all.

More technical doesn't mean better, anyone who studies an instrument hard enough can play technically, but not everyone can WRITE good songs.

Truth is TALENT CAN'T BE TAUGHT, and Metallica have that in spades. So do Megadeth, but not because they are "aawww so technicalzzz", but because Dave CAN write.

Ah this is a great song. This actually was the first song he wrote after leaving Metallica on his journey back to California. Originally entitled Megadeth it was a great song but it's had other names such as Burnt Offerings then finally Set The World Afire. Amazing song,amazing band.

He wrote other songs before this one such as The Mechanics as it was entitled on Metallica's "No Life Til Leather" demo tape.
