  • Cape Fear is a very scary movie

  • De Niro was brilliant as Max Cady but Robert Mitchum was better

  • i was expecting more than a billion views on this video.

  • 2:49 the best part

  • Absolutely awesome

  • Thanks Dave.

  • Cool vengence tatoos.

  • Thanks for your encouraging comment Victoria.

  • De Niro is awesome. My favourite Scorsese film ever.

  • De Niro deserved an award for this part. He was the perfect villain.

  • best performence from bobby de niro

  • Was searching for this awesome theme and stumbled across this vid.

    Very nice editing job, pal.

As much as I love the original (hey, can't go wrong with Peck and Mitchum, right?) I actually prefer the remake.

The depth of the characters, their interaction with each other and the suspense...IMO Scorsese equalled Hitchcock on this one.

And de Niro? If you never saw Cape Fear, prepare he is an absolute beast in this one!!

  • @Soundtrackcollector

Any time I see a great vid here, man. Thanks for the quote!!

  • @devilknowsyou Hitchcock didn't direct the original, moron...

  • @devilknowsyou,

This is one of those remakes where I actually prefer the remake as well. The movie had great character development, the suspense was out of this world, the music is haunting (Elmer Bernstein OWNED), and DeNiro is one of the most psychotic motherfuckers to ever grace the screen.

The original was amazing as well, but this movie sort of got me hooked into more. Scorsese made the movie his own, which was an incredible idea.

  • just so good.

  • Sideshow bob's main theme starting at 3:00, so the Simpsons plagiarized that!! The part before it is often played during Sideshow Bob moments as well

  • @NMbarrassment I wouldnt call it plagiarized,,,the first time they used this as bobs theme was in the episode "Cape Feare" where they parodied the whole movie..and after that...the score just became synanimos with bob..

  • Elmer Bernstein did an outstanding job with the music for the film! Brilliant tribute to Bernard Herrmann.

  • Another fantastic theme.

  • Oh yeah! what an ending, I missed this one, thought it was the original, hanging my head in shame...

  • Scorsese's tribute to the original ...thanks for your support.

  • Post the soundtrack to The Believer asap.

  • EPIC

Cape Fear is a masterpiece !!

  • @Avzzor ,

Agree 100%! RIP The almighty Elmer Bernstein!

  • @lupoistheman1

    Amen!

  • Elmer is a chip off the old block. Great work.

  • Bertstein's done a great job.

    Thanks for your comment.

  • I second that!! Thats fantastic.

  • my compliments on a fantastic editing job

  • Thank you kind sir.

  • Fantastic Movie, fantastic original score!

  • "come out, come out wherever you are."

this is one great movie and one great video.

  • Again, I say Sir...brilliant...this may be the ultimate tribute to this movie that I have seen...again, thank you.

  • LOVE IT

  • Thanks ...glad you enjoyed it.

  • mom got me into this movie

    CLASSIC

    ROBERT DE NIRO

    4 LIFE

  • "are you offering me something hot?"

  • "What about your books?"

    "Already read 'em."

  • Marvelous video! Excellent movie! Unbelievable score! De Niro outdid himself in this!

  • Thanks ...glad you like it.

  • Super Cool!

  • Pleased you like this one Jack - thanks.

  • Love this movie - De Niro goin' crazy again, but in spectacular fashion!

  • I Agree - thanks for your comment.

  • ROTFL. I loved Robert De Niro in this. He's so crazy. But then again I love the coolness and sly Robert Mitchum too.

  • one of the most evocative film scores ever

  • Thanks for your comment.

  • I'm confused: Is this just the Elmer or Bernard version? Is it both? If so, where does one begin and the other end?

    Please clarify! Thanks.

  • Bernard Herrmann (1911-1975), his final work was the score for Martin Scorsese's Taxi Driver (1976). Scorsese decided to use the original Cape Fear (1962) score and use Elmer Bernstein to adapt, arrange, and conduct.

    This is all Berstein's version.

  • absolutely wonderful montage along with the score...thank you

  • Glad you like it.

    Thank you for your comment.

  • one of the most sinister scores i have ever heard

  • Herrmann still kicks ass 33 years after his death.

  • Agreed. Jerry Goldsmith is a personal favorite of mine (also RIP), but Herman's scores were just outstanding and influenced so much in the soundtrack realm.

  • I am still looking for the original score. Not this one, but from 1962...

Does anyone know where to find it??

  • You really captured the essence of the movie in this video. I'm no expert, but this is brilliant work.

    G

  • Glad you enjoyed it!

Thanks Gary for your positive comment.

  • Did you edit this together? Or is this the original prevue? it sure is well done. And this movie version is underrated at that.
