The crazy part is that the E60 was well underpowered 500 bhp & 383 lb ft of torque but weighed less & the caddy had 556 bhp & 551 lb ft of torque! Yet the ///M5 is able to keep up! Even though the CTS-V was new! & but ///M division are pretty cleaver!
@koltenk17 the germans can extract over 560 hp from a naturally aspirated V10 and over 560 hp from a naturally aspirated V8, the CTS-V has a supercharger as well.
All of you guys are idiots..I own both cars cars and the quality is insanely identical on both cars i.e.(leather stitching, frame structure, motor durability etc.) We also recently bought a 2010 E63 AMG and I will be honest by far the CTS is still the one that catches the most of my attention..If you're gonna start bitchin bout quality, then get a Benz because the other two are the same..If you want the best well rounded car just go with the CTS..( FYI I'm not biased to any brand, I like all 3).

I think if you make a smaller engine, M5 is not easy to defeat by others. Supercharger does make more power, but it cost more to maintenance and it burns more fuel and lost the feeling of driving.
What sort of idiotic comparison is this? A Supercharged engine compared to normally aspirated? Plus the Caddi has a more CC capacity. Should be ashamed the Caddi didn't do that much better than the M5 with all those advantages.
One thing you can bet though, the Caddi is going to spend a lot less time in the service shop.
0-60mph CTSV 4.0sec VS M5 4.1sec for a supercharged motor thats all torque it didnt do much better than the M5.. the M5 only has 390 ft lb torque for god sakes.... Its that BMW Launch control that keeps it goin!
Ill take the German M5... Any moron can drop a HUGE motor and make alot of HP but it takes German engineering and sophistication to take a 5.0 and get it to rev to almost 9000 RPM!! High rev V10 !! M5 has soo much more than the CTSV.. 3 mode suspension.. SMG 7sp... SOO much more!
so the CTS has an extra 1.2L more than the M5 motor AND its supercharged and it only puts out 56 more HP?? the M5 can put out close to 600 with a ECU tune , intake and exhaust WITHOUT the Supercharger and the 6.2L Monstertruck motor...loll

the M5 has much better brakes, they fade much slower on a track, because they are vented... prevents overheating. I would pick the m5 over the CTS-V, because of it's better build quality.

The crazy part is that the E60 was well underpowered 500 bhp & 383 lb ft of torque but weighed less & the caddy had 556 bhp & 551 lb ft of torque! Yet the ///M5 is able to keep up! Even though the CTS-V was new! & but ///M division are pretty cleaver!

All of you guys are idiots..I own both cars cars and the quality is insanely identical on both cars i.e.(leather stitching, frame structure, motor durability etc.) We also recently bought a 2010 E63 AMG and I will be honest by far the CTS is still the one that catches the most of my attention..If you're gonna start bitchin bout quality, then get a Benz because the other two are the same..If you want the best well rounded car just go with the CTS..( FYI I'm not biased to any brand, I like all 3).

Here's fact the CTS-V came out 5 years into the E60 to beat it barely! & the fact Cadillac as a "LUXURY" sedan is no where near the technology & gadget gizmos the big 3 from Germany has! I think if you make a smaller engine, M5 is not easy to defeat by others. Supercharger does make more power, but it cost more to maintenance and it burns more fuel and lost the feeling of driving.

the M5 has much better brakes, they fade much slower on a track, because they are vented... prevents overheating. I would pick the m5 over the CTS-V, because of it's better build quality.

As much as I'd like to see Detroit do well I think it's totally F'd up that they used a manual transmission on the M5. The most common tranny you will see on this car is the dual clutch transmission which would have improved it's numbers to that better than the CTS-V. Shame on the producers of this video for insulting BMW like that. If you pole 100 people who could afford to buy either of the cars and it came down to choosing 1 of the 2 which would they choose? I'm sure 80% would take the M5.

I do hope the F10 M5 beats the Caddy but will have to wait and see if it can do it!
