  • i knew scorpions are really big shit, but did not know that they are soooo big shit

  • this is a trillion times better then the whos.

  • my version is better!! watch it

  • FAIL TO THEM!

  • really sucks

  • The Scorpions suck ass, not only at covers but in general.

  • the whos version is way better

  • what ever...the solo after the first chourus is absolutely amazing!! mathias is one bad mo fo!!

  • Wow. :[

  • its just not the same without that john entwistle falsetto...CAN'T EXPLAIN

  • So this is the amazing Scorpions cover that I've heard so much about.

    ...well it's certainly not BAD.

  • Right with ya Green, what the heck's the hoopla about?

This doesn't even come close the Who. The Scorpions sound like a wedding band here LOL

  • you can never compare a cover from the real one.... but you can take this as a nice tribute to The Who.....

  • This song shows how much a band from the 60's can influence a band later even though at first they don't sound at all alike.

  • I love the Scorpions but this is just too much. Totally killed the song. Like Judas Priest's cover of Johnny B. Goode

  • This was recorded for the "Stairway to Heaven/Highway to Hell" project.

    Look it up, haters.

    Don't do drugs.

  • Ha. that whole project had hypocrisy written all over it! Ozzy and Motley Crue, I'm looking at you!!!

  • The Who's is WAY better, this is kinda SLLOOWW!!! Dont like it!

  • Well, if you were waiting for a "mod-like" song coming from the Scorpions, you probably have never heard'em before.

  • no ive heard em. im not waiting for a mod lik song from them. i no they wont hav 1. i just say if ur gonna completly change the song dont play it

  • Why not? Everybody has the right to do so. And so have the audience to not listen to those covers. For instance, I'm a huge fan of the Scorpions; if, let's say, Snoop Dogg made his own version of We'll Burn the Sky, I wouldn't listen to it anyway, since I'm not into rap.

  • I think the opposite, escapethefate.

If you completely change the song, it's a cover

If you play it as the original one, it's just a copy

  • well covers are better than changing the song into something completely different! this actually sucks, and i dont know why they did this. The scorpions were heavily influenced by The Who, look at the drums with the arrow or the way rudolf schenker does the windmill ...

  • I don't think it sucks. I actually prefer this version to the original one. Plus, as I wrote before, if you want to make your own version of a song, just pay the royalties and go ahead. What's wrong with that? If you don't like the song, just don't listen. It's that simple.

  • This is what covers should be!

Mostly covers only copy the musics, like Behind Blue Eyes.

Scorpions really know how to make covers, changing the musics and making them looking as their own, like Dust in The Wind, Love of My Life and I Can't Explain. It almost makes a completely different song from the original one.

  • this band dont deserve to cover the best band( the who), espesialy this song.

  • You do realize that technology can change in 20 years. I'm sure the heaviness of the sound was based a lot on that.

  • okay the whos version doesnt suck but i definatly like this better.....plaus i just hate most 60s music . its not heavy enough and doesnt make me feel good

  • Germans should never even attempt rock music////these scorpions bite alright but its not a sting it's naseua...

  • Idiots everywhere, I guess...

  • i personally lik the who version better.

  • originals beat all!! nah but Scorpions are amazingg

  • this is terrible

  • tell me one person better than matthias jabs and dont tell me someone that can play fast just because they can play fast its all about how it sounds and matthias ownsssss

  • hold on now... that's a matter of opinion and differs greatly depending on what era you prefer 60's or 80's

  • SOOOOOOOOOOO 80'S

  • this has to be the worst who cover next to behind blue eyes by limp bizkit, who suck. I like the scorpions, but this sucks.

  • You are so wrong. It's not the Who but I think it's a good cover. They make it sound like a Scorpions song rather than try to copy the Who. I hate copying.

  • Actually, Rudolph was using a Pete Townsend guitar. They were going to do an Elvis cover, but it broke a string on the first note. They felt Pete's Guitar was trying to tell them something.

  • I have that too dude. It was one of the best cover's I'd ever heard.

  • The Whos one my favorite bands and I have to admit I Actually like this cover better. Its so much different they pull it off great.

  • i normally dont like bands who cover the who but this is a very good cover and theyve put there own stamp on it

  • The Scorpions arent trying to out do The Who. Rudolph was practically inspired to play guitar by Pete Townshand. You can tell when he does the windmills with his arms. Also on the bass drums it say Scorpions, but with The Who arrow.

  • eehhhh i dont really like this version...

  • I absolutly love The Who and i really like this cover..

I'm also a pretty big Scorpions fan :)

  • just saying... not a big fan of the who, but i really like this version of this song

  • i love the who

they were the band that got me in2 music

    cn em 5 times

    hardly lyk scorpions

but we r gna cover this version lol

  • Nice but come on...listen to some of the who's recent version of this song....f'in mesmerizing.....Scorpions..nice little story...but kneel down to the best.

  • Scorpions did a great cover here. The who's version is too slow and rubbish. Jabs just owns Pete Townshend and teaches him how to pull of a real solo

  • yeah jabs a real rock legend right there. That's why Scorpions are in the rock and roll hall of fame. Oh wait theyre not.

  • This version is slower than the who's genius...

  • I'm probably the only one that agrees with you, Mathias runs this song over and eats it for breakfast! (it means good job)

  • This is the gayest thing I've ever seen... Hair metal version of the who? Stick to rock you like a huricane you fucking cock smokers! Fucking pathetic...

  • Way back in 1989, the Make A Difference Foundation convinced some prominent hard rock bands to cover some of their favorite rock songs from bands who had members die due to drug use. Money raised from the project would then be used by the foundation to fight drug addiction. It must be hard for you to not be an idiot, but maybe do a little research first...

  • Yeh, my bad for not researching this totally rad cover song's history... Meee just two dumb.. I couldn't care less, I gaurentee these dousche-bags were blowing thousands of dollars in cocaine at the time of this drug research campaign.. And even if they weren't, its still no excuse for making such a pathetic rendition of a great song. Sorry if my response was a little insensitive to you "hard rock" fans out there...

  • yeah you're also too dumb to know the difference between two and too/& an idiot

to assume they have to do the cover exactly

like the who they got their own style covers

would be boring if they sounded just like

their originals both versions are great

  • I'm going to let you in on a little secret... when I said "Meee just two dumb." I spelt two that way for a reason... Like a joke, get it?

  • Shit rockers!

    up the who!

    Skorpions sind einfach Scheiße!

  • pretty good cover. but the who's of course better. thank god, they didn't mess it up as limp bizkit did with behind blue eyes (they suck!).

  • Why do you guys think this song is bad?? It's awesome in my opinon!! Long Live Scorpians!!

  • good........but you cant beat an original!

  • I dont know what u guys r talking about. Ill just say i was unfortunate to be born a bit late to grow up with these guys, but THE SCORPIONS ROCK!!! and this is one of the best songs

  • This coming from a fourteen year old who plays a fuckin noel gallagher guitar. Who's the cunt?

  • they recorded this for a charity album called stairway to heaven/highway to hell along with other hard rock bands for make a difference foundation.

  • FFS im shocked I hope pete townsend made a few bob out of this, cos if he thought they were doing the song justice hes unwell!!

  • WTF??? Thats terrible.

  • Lets just say I'm a mod.

So I cant write all my feelings and I would probably be banned from youtube.

At least the lyrics are still there.

  • jesus christ! that´s awful. that´s not showing respect to the who, that´s futzing with an all-time monster song and tunring it into a goddamn spandex commercial. most people would chop their right arm off to write townshends´ songs, covering them ain´t an easy task, but these fellas they suck big time.

  • I have a lot of respect for The Who, but I better like this version.

  • amen!

  • I really love this band!!!

  • ste toune la est bonne en kolisse

  • this is alright but i think this guy is nothing compared to daltrey

  • I think I like The Who's version alot better, but this version ain't that bad

  • Awesome!

  • TREMENDOUS SOLO!!!

  • both versions are good. scorpions prouve there respect to the who, when they do this cover.

  • Way better than the Who's version.

  • you must be joking..scorpions version is a good one..but its nothing compared to the whos one!

  • no comparison to the origional

  • this one is way better than the cheap gay the who

  • How can you call the who gay? Peter Townshend was such an inspiration to the scorpians that without him, this cover, and probably the scorpions themselves wouldn't even exist without the who

  • I'm not badmouthing the scorpions, but its just that normally, covers cannot compete with origionals

Tom Cochran's Life is a Highway is better then Rascal Flatts version. Bruce Springsteen's Blinded By the Light is better then Manfred Mann's version. Hell even the Beach Boy's version of Barbra Anne is better then The Who's cover. its just a common deal that covers are not as good as origionals

  • I think covers can compete with the originals, but you gotta respect the original band of doing something that these guys think is worth making a cover version, you know.

There are some cover songs I prefer to the originals. One is Priest's Green Manalishi.

  • like I said, NORMALLY, covers aren't as good. But that doesn't mean that there can't be exceptions.

  • I didn't even know the Who recorded it first till I heard it on SAGA over the net a couple months ago, HA!! This is one of my favorite songs from Scorpions.

  • Not bad, not bad at all.

  • like this version better than the original by the who

  • jesus thats horrible. What did the Who do to deserve some of these followers

  • THE WHO ARE GAY COCKSUCKING FAGS

  • you are a gay cocksucking fag!

the who are the fucking greatest!

  • Hello degeneration1 You're Fucking up the wrong tree you fucking FAGGOT. Why dont you take your WHO hating ass and fuck it with a thorn bush. The Who are great artists and writers. The scorpions (not to mean disrespect to them because they rock aswell) never really cut through any untouched musical territory. They were just main stream much like My Chemical Romance today (except the scorpions are good and MCR is not) So dont diss real artists like the Who
