Yeah, her second placement was quite appropriate enough. I just think that Mirai didn't really rob Ashley of her scores. But I don't think that Rachael Flatt should have been placed first. Why? I don't think Rachael Flatt has a good quality control over her skating. Her edges are so deep and sharp. Also, Rachael Flatt's spirals aren't that all attractive to begin with. Mirai's spirals are way better than Rachael. And it still keeps on getting better THAN Rachael. The judges overrated Rachael.

Her lutz combination was not on the correct edge, therefore would have got deductions in the GOE on her lutz

I think she deserved Silver. Rachel Flatt's Triple-Triple was underrotated but she didn't get penalized for it. Ashley's Triple-Triple was fully completed (and more difficult).

The lutz in her 3/3 was taken off from an inside edge, not the correct outside edge position. She received the deduction and it didn't help her very much. It was a magnificent combination though and an awesome skate.
