Weird, There are John Hughes movies that are my absolute favorites and others that I completely despise. Uncle Buck is the best, Weird Science is #2 only because John Candy isn't in it. Ferris Beuller is one of the worst movies of all time, he's a totall selfish dick that does what he wants and ultimately... get's away with it. WTF, that's supposed to be good?
But all in all , I liked most of his movies, even those with the racist stereotypes.
Thank you John Hughes for making such wonderful films, you understood what life was like for young people in high school. I will always remember your films, because they made us laugh and cry. R.I.P
Nice to see 'Uncle Buck' get some attention in eulogizing the late, great John Hughes. AintItCool wrote TWO eulogies...without mention of this classic...somehow:/
Wow. I just realized how many of his movies are actually some of my all times favorites that I can watch over and over again. He was such a great director and an even better writer. He will be missed.
John Hughes' flims and stories was a huge part of my tween & teen years. His movies have stayed with me throughout my life and I've loved passing them on to my kids. The Breakfast Club and Sixteen Candles are forever some of my favorite movies. There wasnt a single movie that he was behind that I didn't have BIG love for. Thanks for some of the best moments and biggest laughs of my life.
too sad...highly underrated...I will miss him dearly...I just wish he had made one last movie...but we will have to suffice with his amazing films. He was a part of my childhood and I will forever remember him as one of my favorite directors of all time. RIP
Some of the greatest movies ever made. He didn't make $200 million dollar films that relied on special effects and an epic story. He wrote from the heart and his movies relied on heart and he died because of his heart. In 30 or 40 years from now most teens won't know his name, but I know they will have watched his movies and fallen in love like we have.
Fantabulous. Well done, thank you. We still miss you, John.
