  • ...lovely piano version of this most beautiful of Irish songs, with words that go back to 1805 from the pen of the Irish poet Thomas Moore....

  • @TheE8gisell

This is one of the most moving songs I know & I've been playing it since I was a kid; I've tried singing it too, but my voice still needs some work. I'm glad you enjoyed the music! :-)

  • beautiful .a first rose of summer will soon be mine to see and touch. hello from australia

  • Magic music, and beautiful photos. Hi from Italy.

  • This is truly divine. Well played, and thank you for sharing it with us.

  • @harryfaber

Thank you! I've been playing this piece ever since I was a kid and it still sometimes moves me to tears.

  • Beautiful!

  • I was fascinating to hear my favorites song playing, " The Last Rose of Summer" I love this song, Anyway just wanted to let you that it was beautiful.

did you guys check "Jude Louis" singing this song I think in French or whatever language he's using, I found it on youtube.

keep posting good music like this.

    Thanks

  • Thank you very much for the kind words; this song has a lot of meaning for me. I didn't find Jude Louis singing this song when I searched, but I'd like to hear it. :-)

  • Just type Jude Louis you should be able to find it.

Thank you, this song mean a lot to me,

  • Absolutely beautiful - brought me to tears hearing this after a funeral i recently attended - magnificent playing.

  • I'm honoured! :)

(I have to admit that sometimes this piece makes me cry too, especially in the fall.)

  • Lovely playing and a beautiful sound from your piano. I have been downloading a couple of arrangements of this music, but don't think I have the version you play. Whose arrangement is it? Would love to find the music.

  • Thank you for the kind words; I am flattered! :) The book I am using is from the 30's - one of those "Everybody's Favourite _______" type of books ("Songs", in this case.) I don't think it would help you all that much though, as I add a fair amount of the accompaniment, and also take considerable liberties with the lengths of some of the melody notes. (I only realized this after listening to some other versions of the song.)

  • this is really great. ive been playing a lot of mendellson lately and i was glad to see that he wrote this so i will deinately give this song a go,.

  • Lovely piano interpretation of famous song! Thank you.

  • You're welcome, and thank you! :)

  • umm.. do you know a site for the script for the song

i need it for a cm test

well i need the piano accopaniment

  • Sweet piano interpretation; very full of emotion. I would say, at times, it seems to not quite match - but that seems only to add to the feeling of it all.

  • I'm glad you liked it, mis-matches or no. :) 'Movie-making' is very new to me, so it'll be a while before I get sophisticated. ;)

  • The "matching" of which I spoke is the piano-keys. Where the harmony note rolls into the melody, or vice-versa.
