@azwi186 Exactly. It seems as if you're paying more for the historic look of the damn place than anything. I wish my parents were doctors or lawyers and could rain money on me whenever I wanted. I mean, yes, these students do receive an EXCELLENT education, no doubt, but I'd rather have a social life and not spend every hour of the week studying. I go to a state college in Wisconsin, and I spend a good amount of my time during the week studying, of course. I think people want to look more

I watched a video about two students at Harvard, and one of the students says that he gets up at 4:30am every day and is at school all day until 7 at night...like, yeah.. it must be hell of a lot of work to maintain your grades and do your homework and shit, but I think some of these colleges want their students to look "better" than students at other colleges. By the way LSE are ranked 45 preceding university of manchester and it is an annual progression, nothing to do with pedigree. Besides it is already ''biased'' that all other multi-departmental Universities are compared to LSE - which is just a maths and economics institution.

eeerm...i hope you know qs rankings are bull and they are very biased towards english institutions. The most reliable rankings is the times higher education - they have the latest rankings - where cambridge is 6th preceded only by oxford and 4 other us universities of caltech, harvard, stanford and princeton respectively. They are barely in the world top 4 in other website rankings

@1murkeybadmayn There are no reliable rankings full stop, they are biased towards countries / universities (notably the richest western universities), the quality of teaching / course is virtually ignored in comparison to how much money is available to throw at research, where that research is directed, etc...

The fact many years the LSE is ranked down near 100, last year behind the University Of Sussex, tells you everything you need to know about The Times rankings (or any others).

Academic professionals are overpaid and most of their time as students just looking for connections. Why? To get everything for free later on when they earn 250.000$ and can afford anything anyway? These traditions and this whole system leads to nepotism, favoritism and corruption. They make wars, they crash economy, they forget reality & humanity and if you really have a question - I bet they don't know. At least they didn't whenever I asked. They are just there to keep themselves elitist.

I hated school and left it at college level cause I couldn't concentrate on what I'm not interested in like pushing a button. I never could have been able to afford an elite school anyway & didn't even want to go to university, cause I don't have to prove my intelligence to anyone and I surely don't want to be part of a system that doesn't work on my frequency.

The only reason that Cambridge beat Harvard is because Cambridge has more international faculty and international students. I don't think that's important criteria.
