  • A quiz isn't a pop-quiz if you tell us before-hand.

  • temporal-forehead-clocks. yyeah ill get a 2400 because of you <3

  • These are some really handy tips, especially the first one about using foreign languages to help. Many people learn Latin to help them with tough vocab words, which is a great strategy. At Brainscape, we help people learn using online flashcards, so check us and our videos out when you have time. Thanks for the study tips!

  • Tips are good but its hard to come up with something yourself for each and every difficult word and then associate it like this. Takes a lot of time and not everyone can do it. But folks at vocabahead has done a better job in building unique pictures which can be associated with each word and narration which builds a story in your mind. Search for vocabahead on youtube.

  • Arboreal- Arbor day from Ed, Edd, n Eddy!

  • Well last time I took the sat I got a 1600 bout to take ant

Other prep test in June wish me luck youtubers!

  • Temporal - From Latin "Tempus" meaning time.

Laudable - Latin "Laudare" meaning to praise

  • Your examples suck.

  • In Israel we have "The psychometric exam" , I HATE IT :@ , it is similar to SAT

  • if you watch kilplix, con=molotovs lol

  • got 2210!

  • @casanova0102 FUCK YOU

  • Latin helped me with every single one of these words believe it or not, but take latin it helps so much for example. Facile, the word facio in latin means to do or make and ile means capable so to make capable or easy or effortless. Also arbora in latin means trees, so arboreal woud have to do something with trees. Terrae means earth/land in atin terrestial means related to the earth. catching my drift? Laudae means to praise , laudable means deserving praise. Latin helps so much, 620 in reading

  • @zmalqpxnskeizmalqpxn exactly what I was thinking.. I actually tried learning Latin for a week off YouTube and even that made some words more recognizable for me. No need to make up pretty pictures and funny phrases for words when you know exactly where they came from!

  • I thought you weren't supposed to study. I know I didn't. Only people who aren't capable have to do this "imagery"

  • I have a penchant for punching people.

  • The best thing you can do is to study how words are formed. They generally consist of a prefix, a root word, and a suffix. If you just study roots, it’s just a matter of comparing the prefix and suffix to a word you are already familiar with. For example-

Facile= “fac-“ to make (such as factory) and “-ile” means capable (such as agile)

Terrestrial= "terra-" which means earth (such as terrain) and “-al” means “pertaining to”

Temporal= “temp-“ time (such as temporary) and "-al" (same as above)

  • lol and parents say video games dont teach you anything.

Conflagration- a Warlock ability that eats up your immolate DOT and causes burst damage. It also looks like a big fireball...

    Conflagration: a big Fire.

  • @mzy10511 lol I actually learned a lot of vocabulary from games especially rpg and strategy games.

  • @mzy10511 yea, video games might teach you something, but when you spend 1000s of hours and you only learn 10-15 vocab words, is it still worth it?

  • arboreal... like arbor day

  • That was a bad example for temporal.

I say think of temporary, which means short time. Temporal means related to time. Notice the correlation? Most people know what temporary means, so this would probably be the easier way to remember temporal.

  • i pictured obama burning american flag

  • burning a flag? wth

  • An except from David Mura's "Turning Japanese" will be on the SAT reading section this year. The Barrons SAT prep book has a passage excerpted from it.

  • i am great on the math portion. Its just these sections that ar tough

  • Aww no pop quiz? :P

  • The best way to study for the test is to study test taking skills... vocab can help but you should never have to study more than 50 words to succeed on the SAT

  • ???? flag burning hahahah

  • yugioh the ABRIDGEd series XD

  • @tyaeyu14 lol that's the only reason i know that word

  • Comment removed

  • Do you think I should memorize the individual words? Or just the roots?

  • ur great...u should do more....thanks..

  • thats a big TV

  • O Level exam, which is taken in England and some other countries is way harder than the SAT. However, that exam is more classroom based and tests people's knowledge rather than their test taking abilities.

  • @mezukool I took the O Level exam. I don't think it's anywhere near as difficult as the SAT. I got 6 1s (As) and 2 2s (Bs) but I've been studying for the SAT since July and only today did I manage to get 2000 on the practice exam. I know alot of kids who got like 10 As and would suck at the SATs too.

  • lol i started thinking of a crazy muslim burning a flag for conflagration

  • "When you see the word conflagration, imagine a flag burning".

    TERRORIST!

  • why did she walk in front the screen in the beginning? & y did they then zoom in on her face?

  • @bluenakednails uhm ... even that bothered you? why can't you just focus on the tips = =''

  • I do 30 words a night and i am only in the 9th grade.

  • you will forget em all by the time you take it. I did the same thing.

  • @castroboy94. good for uou skippy. Want a medal?

  • @castroboy94 Proud of you boy, It's time for your bed now

  • Learning new languages REALLY does help, and a language i garantee that will help you boost your english vocab is spanish because many of the common words used in spanish have a similar synonim in english. example Laudable =>(spanish)Laudable(yup it spells the same), Plausible, Loable...all those words all have a similarity and all mean the same...thats not actually a good example but i wanted to show a word that was shown on the video.

  • I learned the words for the SAT, and tried some with my friends.

The more obscure ones, my friends thought I was making up.

  • Abridge - to shorten

Picture people trying to SHORTON their way around a river by making A BRIDGE.

  • snapwiz.com - pretty good, adaptive learning for SAT prep and all other top test prep exam across USA and INDIA

    snapwiz.com/a/sat/sat-math

    snapwiz.com/a/sat/sat-writing

    snapwiz.com/a/sat/sat-critical-reading

    snapwiz.com/a/sat/sat-word-lists

  • @Dbro88911 I stared at "SHORTON" for a full 15 seconds trying to figure out what it said before I figured out it was just that you were trying to say SHORTEN but you're retarded

  • If our's is so easy, why the poor vocab?

  • I don't have to do yours,I just have to do mine, that means, I don't have to be fluent on english to do mine . Just portuguese to do my essay and vocabulary + grammar questions.I just said that is easy, because of what I now about english language i could do well in your test. And SAT don't have so many questions as Vesibular. Each universty has it own test. That means, if i want to enter on Ivy league universty, I have to do 8 tests:I don't know.

  • Continuing...I've already done 6 tests just on first phase, that s 90 quesions each test +40 lines essay(minimum) take about 5 hours to do each test.

This weekend I have more 2, 180 questions and essay on the second day.Second phase are just writing, all subjects questions including Philosophy, there is no alternative, 10 questions each subject for write the answer, so if you don't know the answer, JUST CRY.

  • damn man i take it back your test are tough, but ours is almost 5 hours to so it's a win win.

  • lol, each test here is 4-6 hours. I've already done the today's test, maximum time was 4h:30m, I took 4 hours to do that, 90 questions, 29 pages lol

Today was ok, alternative questions, so no problems.

  • Second phase are about 3-5 days, and of course you have to do more one essay(one in each phase).

  • i actually agree with him, SAT is easy compared to other admission tests, however a test isnt made to be tough, its made to TEST people so that they show you what theyve got. As long as that applies on any test regardless of the difficulty, itll mean that the test did its job, so there is really no reason to claim you need to take the toughest test.

  • The essay worth only12 points. The colleges dont even care about it

  • thank you eva for the video i received a score of six on the essay on my last test but are they looking for grammar in the essay section i am sure i made a couple of mistakes in the essay and yet i got a perfect essay score in addition to that my writing score was fairly low how much is the essay worth?

  • the way to remember things...like she said, are so hard...is better to memorized them

  • Nice work! Thanks for the tips.

  • wtf
