  • This is a stoner's #1 song. But i'm not high right now and still find this song a #1.

  • I'm so sick of going to watch Foo Fighters and Nirvana videos and seeing people fighting over stupid shit! Okay listen,Nirvana they were amazing, out of this world and no one can ever take that away, but if it wernt for Nirvana then there would be no Foo Fighters. What gets me here is that it's the same song that been slightly tweaked. Dave wrote this and sung it with Nirvana. Its his song. Its the SAME song, so i dont understand how people can say its shit. But yeah, I love this song (: <3

  • drums are tooo loud...athey shouldn;t even be there at all

  • And I hate the guy singing through the whole damn thing

  • @itswhip NO HE MAKES IT BETTER!!!!

  • i love that snare hit at 1:13

  • this concert rocked

  • hey You ...Your..Music..its why i'm alive..here!! :P thx Good COncert!!

  • was the guy singing next to you stoned or what?

  • hahaha yeah the dude next to me did that the whole show, loved it.

  • this is gay if you want to here a good version of this listen to the one nirvana did.

  • sorry but this version is much better, nirvana's version was good, but sounded terrible. This song sounds amazing live, trust me, I was at one of them

  • i have this single..me to !! good version

  • This isn't that bad, although Nirvana's version was much, much better.

  • its the same fucking song, sung by the same person, how can it be much much better? theres no difference between them apart from it appeared on a nirvana B-side first

  • Because this version is all overblown, stadium-y and poppy, whereas the Nirvana version was subtle, understated, and almost slightly unnerving as well as being exceptionally beautiful. So yeah, totally different.

  • @2n2equals5 yup, couldn't have said it better myself ;)

  • @Jipstani umm listen to them both again, this one has a completely different arrangement, timing, drums, atmosphere..

  • @Just2Rusty you know that its was only dave on the nirvana recording right?? so its basically the foo fighters

  • @cpren56 Yeah. I do. (Man I commented that two years ago). The recording on With The Lights Out is better, in my opinion anyway.

  • @Just2Rusty nirvana's version?

  • @CarpetFuzz74 Yes.

  • @Just2Rusty "Nirvanas version is all just Dave with Krist on bass"

  • spettacolare.....vai dave

  • guys what is the name of the song that has lyrics:"...jacob jacob why did you leave the ketchup on the table?!cause you wanted to!..."?

  • You're probably thinking of Chop Suey by System of a Down ... Those aren't the lyrics though, you may have misheard them; "Why'd you leave the keys upon the table. You wanted to..."

  • yea okay thanks man see my mom is the person who was always telling me about the song and i guess she kinda misunderstood the lyrics but thanks.

  • yea you are right i just checked out the video and yea my mom told me the lyrics to the song and i wanted to look it up but she was wrong she misheard the lyrics THANKS.

  • brilliant! for people who dont know, marigold was written by dave in the nirvana days, kurt heard it and jammed with dave on a 1992 demo and after kurt died, the band got together, including the original drummer from bleach days and performed this as the final nirvana song

  • someone gave you a bad rating for this comment, not sure why? You are right though, dave did write this song :D

  • yeah man, it always happens on youtube, if your right they do it, if your wrong they do it but if you just talk shit, they seem to leave you alone- funny how it works huh?

  • thats not kurt cobain singing in the nirvana version of it, it sounds nothing like him sounds way more like dave grohl same with do rei me

  • Ya Grohl does vocals on the original but I think Kurt does vocals on do mi re you can tell by the way he stretches his vocals.

  • umm... do re mi is kurt, not dave!

  • LMAO! He killed his own song.

  • solo dave play it for kurt

  • if you like nirvarna then why are you complaining? dave grohl singing a 'nirvarna' song is the closet your ever going to get to the real thing! doesn't dave sing the nirvarna version anyway? it really sounds like him

  • yeah dave did sing the nirvana version, only song they released that cobain's not part of. =)

  • Yeah. I'm pretty sure that Dave sang the Nirvana version.

  • Kurt plays the drums on the nirvana version!!!!

  • kurt played on the 92 demo, the final accousitc version was recorded after kurt died

  • This version of this song blows. Sounds like shit.

  • Hey he totally stole Kurt Cobain's Song!!!!....

Don't worry all you little Fo-Fo Heads, I'm just joking. I know Dave wrote and performed lead vocals on the Nirvana mix, but this officially a Nirvana song.

  • geeks...

  • there is no nirvana version jerk head..this is DAVE's song totally. kurt thought about recording it, he liked it, but this is dave's baby..

  • this is dave song indeed, but there is a nirvana version man, on the heart shaped box single, its a little bit different, but its all dave's creation

  • fuck cameraman...dont sing bitch ..dont let hear dave grohl....fuck! little joke

    haha...

  • the nirana version is better in my opinion but

    this is still good

  • it doesnt matter who plays it, Nirvana or Foo Fighters...it's Dave's song.

  • AMERICANOS ESTÚPIDOS. Quem é que canta a "Marigold" na era Nirvana? Cavalos do crl. :| não é o Dave? Ursos.

    emajlos (6 days ago)

noobies! Dave sing it in nirvana version too... :|

    Correct!

  • AMERICANOS ESTÚPIDOS. Quem é que canta a "Marigold" na era Nirvana? Cavalos do crl. :| não é o Dave? Ursos.

  • Don't fucking sing along.

  • I was going to actually rip on you, but then I heard how awful that guy sounded haah

  • Yeah, it's pretty rough

  • noobies! Dave sing it in nirvana version too... :|

  • LOL @ Dave having to play guitar when sitting down. What a noob.

  • LOL. You're such a retard. He plays all the time standing up. But he sits in this because it's a quiet song. Even fucking James Hetfield (of Metallica) sits down during some songs. And so did Kurt Cobain if you're a Nirvana fan.

Now go suck on a lollipop.

  • well said! u rock dude. Eliasoz that is

  • what do the people recording say at 1:05?

  • the guy singing with the camera needs to shut up.... other than that nice performance.

  • i like the NIRVANA version better but love the foo fighters

  • why dave sings in the nirvana version too its just a different band

  • i no

  • so whats the difference

  • i ment i like NIRVANA better then foo fighters but like foo fighters still

  • He wrote it before he played in Nirvana..

  • yes i did know that you dumb ass i was a nirvana fan for i guess 4 years or something but okay want i meant to say was that this version is also good but i like the other version better

  • i heard dace cried wen he playd this song

  • And i think you are a moron.Hows that working out for you?

  • I don´t think I give a fuck about what YOU think

  • Thats a relief.

  • only Nirvana song Kurt wasnt involved in

  • This was originally a Nirvana song, one that Dave actually got to sing on, but this is still great.

    Good performance!

  • No. It was originally on Dave Grohls cassete only album "Pocketwatch". Then Nirvana recorded it and released it as a B-side.

  • this is a nirvana song :) but they also play it good ^__^

  • Yeah Justy, that's a drag. I once drove several hours to see Beck and had to deal with some annoying girl that I think was on acid or something wearing plastic butterfly wings and glitter shouting all the lyrics at the top of her lungs right behind me. Ugh. Columbus, Ohio USA ftl.

  • Don't you hate it when you pay 60-150 bucks for a ticket to see your favourite band and have to listen to the super lame fan behind you singing along the whole time...man that drives me nuts.

  • could this song be about dave and kurt's relationship?

  • No, this song is 20 years old, Dave was the 2nd drummer for Nirvana

  • didnt dave write this song?

  • Dave wasn´t 2nd drummer lol, he was their 4th or 5th drummer

  • He sings it in the nirvana version anyways too .

This version isn't really that great at all though

  • he was in nirvana

  • The nirvana version is my favorite, its a great song

  • gret, great song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Maybe I was hearing Ashley simpson on back up Vox.

  • Was that Milli Vanilli singing backups?

  • its a nirvana song...got it on a import album

  • this live version kicks some serious ass.. i dunno what it is but it rocks

  • redspike has right

    how you can't understand

no hablen de lo que no saben

  • This song was originally recorded as demo by Dave, then later re-recorded as a Nirvana B-side. So, in effect, this song was released first as a Nirvana b-side, but it is Dave's song.

  • It was long rumored that Kurt played drums on a the marigold single that surfaced on one of the outcesticide albums

  • if you watch the with the lights out dvd this is the last song i think. cant remember havnt watched it in a long time. but the last song on the dvd kurt did play drums.

  • eh no its not. Seasons in the Sun

  • no he didnt. its got the distinctive grohl sound...

  • he did punkass!

  • umm yeah he did dude

  • you guys are fucking dumbasses dave did guitar vocals and drums and kris did bass kurt did nothing fuck all you possers who say different

  • well dont fuckin jizz over the subject asshole im a complete poser cuz i got 1 nirvana fact wrong go fuck your self.

  • woah this song is great it should've been on nirvana's black album xD

  • I think the nirvana version was better

  • have any of you ever heard of a multitrack? just because dave was singing, doesnt mean he couldnt have also played drums /other tracks or that kurt has to have performed at all on the record.

  • The vocals sucks in this performance. Kurt played guitar and back vocals, Dave did lead vocals and drums. That's all.

  • No kurt did drums while dave did bass, and krist did guitar.

  • That's "Seasons in the Sun" recorded in Brasil !!!!!!!! Marigold was recorded at Paquidermo studio in the "In Utero" sessions, Dave:Vocals & Drums, Krist: Bass, Kurt: Guitar. Produced by Stece Albini, Mixed By Scott Litt. B-Side of "Heart Shapped Box" single. Ok?

Joder! Que atrevida es la ignorancia!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And, BTW, I have heard Pocketwatch, Nirvana and FF versions. The Nirvana version is my favourite.

  • I agree, redspike blabla.. Kurt sings kinda ironic and sad, and that makes it the best coverr.

  • Kurt never sang Marigold!!!! The Nirvana's version is sung by Dave.

  • Heh... I mean Seasons in the sun, redspike bla blaa

  • you are wrong, kurt had nothing to do with marigold.,.. he was gone, and krist and dave where to do some of daves songs, dave did, drumming, vocals, and guitar, krist got the bass... check the nirvanafanclub dot com

  • No, YOU are wrong. This WAS a nirvana song and kurt did play on it. dave did vocals and drums. i got the heart shaped box single the day it was released and right there on the inlay it tells you.

    pwnd.

  • in your face!

  • too bad you're still wrong. The liner notes are wrong, it's been said numerous times kurt didn't do anything on the recording.

  • Idiot, never you had to upload that excrement with your voice

  • The main problem with this is you hear the wanker holding the phones shitty voice more than grohls. Stop singing man, you shatter glass.

  • Man I'm starting to hate the whole cell-phone-video crap. Its worthless!

  • instruments are good butt voices=shit Nirvana 4ever

  • i used to have this song on a unreleased nirvana cd back in the day. it's so nice to here it again. thanks!

  • instrumentals are good but dont like the singing =/

  • this song was written and sang by Dave Grohl, Kurt sang back up vocals and played drums for it.

  • Nope... Dave Grohl Played drums Kurt sang the backup.

  • Nope... Dave made it all I mean with Krist playing bass.

  • dude i have the nirvana boxset and ive read the book that comes with it, it tells you that dave wrote and sang for it and kurt sang back up vocals and played drums.

  • KAK

  • dave sing "marigold" when stay in nirvana era.. dave sing.. kurt in the drumms and kris in bass

  • i think he did it in the later years

  • world's greatest song ever ever ever!!!

  • great song

  • oh alistar that is so you singing

  • Great band! great song!... but nothing like Nirvana.-

  • i looooooooooooooooove nirvana too but this is the main song that i like from the foo fighters....

  • same, and idk i cant decide if i consider this a foo fighters or nirvana song...like dave grohl wrote the whole thing, but he did it while he in nirvana...so its like, meh?

  • i jammed on this song with my friend the other day and we were wondering about that so we just decided to call it dave AND kurts work:D

  • ya i see what you mean, but actually kurt didn't work on this song at all, it was 100% dave, he just recorded the instruments seperately (except the bass, krist did that)

  • because its only like a B side theres not much info on it cos i think i heard that he leart to play while living with kurt and then he wrote the song cos he was bored and then kurt heard it and liked it and told him to record it

  • ya that sounds about right, its something like that

  • He did it before he was in Nirvana. It was on the Pocketwatch cassette that Dave recorded in 1990.

  • I would've been that excited if i'd been there though..:P

  • man i really hate that noob singer in the background:P no offence. I can play the song btw! :)

  • This song is nice... it came on a Nirvana Single..

Heart-Shaped Box single, i´d say. Who made this song, Grohl?

  • Yeah, Grohl wrote the song in 1990, where it was recorded on the Pocketwatch Demos. Kurt heard Grohl singing the song alone and he felt that the song was quite good, and it was re-recorded with Nirvana and placed on the HSB single.

  • HAA learn to sing =D =P

    lol

    great vid =D

  • awesome song

  • Nirvana and Foo Fighters are the best.

    Very good video! Thx alistarrichardson.

  • Foo Fighters and Nirvana are both good bands, both bands at time got a little bit over rated in their life spans, but dont all bands? If you dont like either one of the bands, that is your loss.

  • ur right ther alistar.

    great upload! thanks mate!

  • i saw them live yesterday fucking sweet. Foo Fighters rock. Nice Vid.

  • nirvana rule, foo fighters suck ass

  • your dumb.

I like (love) Nirvana, but the foos are awesome, too.

  • This was on a Nirvana CD, you know...

  • but its daves song he even sings it on the nirvana version

  • That's not the point, though. He said that Nirvana rules, Foo Fighters sucks, when this song is actually performed with both bands. He's just not really making sense.

  • Stupid dipshit, FF ftw

  • yeah kcobain123 i notices that too. before i went to the concert my aim was to get marigold so all you youtubers could appreciate it. too many people video everlong (not that its a bad song)

  • thanx alistarrichardson, ive been lookin 4 a good marigold video but all the ones on youtube suck ass. but this ones pretty mingin, and once again, thanks

  • Fucken cool as
