More features? Like what? The whole point of this design (as was noted in the commercial clip) was simplicity, with no complicated settings. Well, at least throw the unit on craigslist for a collector to enjoy for many years to come (while your new future dryer craps out in less than a handful of years).
I have this exact dryer, down to the white color (DE-806). These are work of art, both internally and externally. I got it from a Maytag dealer who had it out in the back of his shop and he was throwing it away. I ask him what wrong with it. His reply, "Nothing!" WTF?!?!
My grandmother has this washer/dryer set in harvest wheat color from the late 60's and in 40 years, has only had to replace the belts on the dryer. That's it!!! They don't make them like this anymore!! Save them all!!!
That dryer looks almost like the one and only dryer my mother ever owned...my dad bought it for her (used) in 1977...six years later when my brother broke up what was left of their parent's house, he moved it to his home...and last I saw of it, his wife and he were still using it!
This woman has the personality of a 2X4. LOL

I have this in avacado green in my basement. It still works, but I'm going to buy a new one with more features.

It's a DRYER. Try to remember it's a piece of metal.

You are so right. It would take a tank round to kill one of those machines.

My mom had this same set when I was a kid. She bought them around 1970 and finally got new ones in mid 90's. They don't make them like that anymore!
