@Loxzx3 If you want to work for the BBC you would need a portfolio and would recommend having knowledge of being a journalist. To even be a runner you need alot of knowledge in the field (unfortunately). You don't need a British accent to be on the BBC. If you want the English accent, live in England for a couple of years you would tend to pick it up.

Also the BBC is usually funded by the UK TV license (which we will have to pay)...

You'll learn the rest if you research about it.

@Borbuster - Totally agree, and I'm American. But I think the reason is to attract a larger audience, realizing fewer people speak with the Queen's English and it is now considered "stuffy" or passe. You'll even hear some reporters on the BBC speak with a near Cockney accent, something you won't even hear on American National Broadcasts (the American equivalent being Brooklyn or Southern).
