  • so you guys eat that?

  • thats a nice daiwa saltist ld 2 spd

  • good catch(es). ur using way too heavy gear for the harbor.

  • what kind of rig were you using

  • Diggin the Heiro cuts

  • are you guys ever guna fish dana point harbor?

  • @balla32636 Carolina Rig is correct. Rods: Calstar MH JigStick, Seeker Blue Lightning Inshore, Shimano MH Teramar.

  • what rods are u guys using? looks like a carolina rig?

  • I fish plastics only. We fish Redondo Harbor at night and catch 2-5 pound sand bass. You can actually get better fish on plastics than live bait if you know what you are doing. Cut bait ( frozen squid, chovies , mackeral, and all that otehr crap) is completely worthless. All you will get is Rays and little sharks.

  • @Jazepentz Yeah, this was just our first time out fishing inside the harbor. We didnt know what to really expect. The past few times we've gone, we've caught plenty of spotted bay bass, sand bass, and couple halibuts off plastics inside the bay. Plus catching sharks and rays is still fun.

  • @Jazepentz All that matters is that you have fun. Just make sure to release the spotties... their population is very low. I releace everyhitng but Halibuts and legal seabass. Also the odd Yellowtail that comes through.

  • YEAH TUMBS UP LOVE IT. KEEP THE CAMERA ROLLING .

  • @hlpmetidus haha yeah, lots of fun in the harbor. we even trolled rapalas going around in circles by the bait barge, and hooking up on baby cudas lol.

  • Thanks for the advice arviljdm. We rented from Davey's Locker too and just fished in the bay because I think there was a boundary where we couldnt cross, interfering with the boats. I'll definitely be more prepared and gear up next time, we were using shrimp, squid, and mackerels as bait, no live stuff, but we will try to live baits next time, Thanks again!

  • @losershorty Oh nice. If you cast a few shiny jigs next to the bait barge, you'll hook up on some small barracudas, haha. Post pics/vids of your next trip. Ill be going out there again this coming weekend.

  • What bait were you guys using for the batrays and sharks? My buddies and I went out Davey's Locker port, rented the skippers for a good day's worth caught only mackerels, sheep heads, and halibuts. Nothing compared to what you guys were catching. Any tips/advice would be great, Thanks

  • @losershorty Oh really? Where were you guys fishing at? Cause we rented the skiffs at Davey's Locker and just fished inside the bay. We bought live sardines at the bait barge in the jetty and just fished all inside the bay. I'd suggest you guys have some heavy gear cause we've caught 40+ lb rays in there and put up a decent fight. Lots of fun. Set your lines up with a bottom feeder rig, or fly line, and id suggest using circle hooks for easy catch and release. Good luck and have fun!
