  • Who cares. Fight the corporations another way. Boycotting Target only takes away jobs from ppl who need them. The value of money is based on perception, so not shopping at their stores doesn't hurt them, it only puts the banks in greater control of us all. Look at the bigger picture.

  • I'm going to Target today & buy a laptop to upload on youtube to show all the things that I bought. Blu- ray player, Big flat screen TV, clothes, expensive, needless things I already own and then RETURN THEM a day before the return policy expires. And if the ask why I'll just tell them I don't like the company's politics. Oh, boy! Shopping spree today! & I encourage you all to do the same!

  • hey

im gonna go buy my new laptop from target

    just to support anti-gay target

    fuckin fags

  • Just bought a laptop at BEST BUY and a PS3 and the rest of my Christmas shopping at TARGET... I dont shop at these places because of there political views. I shop at them because they are great places to shop for what you want. I love that TARGETs are getting more groceries. This will allow me to save more money for the things that I want. Have a Merry Christmas.

  • I am with you my brother...I work with Target...they're b u t t h o l e s all the way.

  • I worked for target. june 2008 to july 2009 I quit after I came back from vacation in california. Prop 8 is stupid. I'm a transsexual female and I just how people can hate so much to vote take peoples rights away.

  • I'm going to boycott your fat ass instead.

  • oh and fyi you just made me want to shop at target more!! :0)

  • I didn't hate gay people....until now!!!!

  • in this economy you are going to boycott an AMERICAN enterprise because of 150 large? that's peanuts compared to soros'billions that funds liberal agenda organizations. how many jobs will be lost because of this stupidity!?

  • I wont boycott Target. MoveOn.org is funded by George Soros the single WORST political Kingmaker there is.

  • I am also boycotting. 180,000 members on the facebook boycott page also agree with the boycott.

  • you know what im going to stop buying at target and best buys

    fuck cheos fuck straight people

  • pffft! ALWAYS going to be SOMEBODY with a bug up their butt about SOMETHING..... buch of typically whiny queers.

I will continue to shop at Target

  • @thenomadboots1

I understand that you don't think gay people should have equal rights. So, my question to you is "why?"

  • The gay population is only 2% of the population and not very affluent either, so your boycott is useless.

  • @YayhooTube

" They came first for the Communists,

    and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Communist.

Then they came for the trade unionists,

    and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews,

    and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew.

    Then they came for me

and by that time no one was left to speak up."

  • Also, to fill you in on whats actually occured from what I understand. Target and Best Buy gave money to MN Forward which is a political group that donated money to business friendly candidates. Thats the requirement, business friendly. After the money has been given to MN Forward thats where their resposibility stops. MN Foward decided whom to donate funds to and in what amounts.

  • First of all I want to thank you on your neutrality on the subject. You admit from the beginning you don’t know all the details and I’m sure that most people don’t but they still go out and do ridiculous things. Like the song with 20 people dancing and the woman making a purchase to immediately return it and tell the manager why she purchased every item. That’s excessive. Boycott means you don’t shop there plain and simple. Doesn’t mean to go there and waste people’s time.

  • People hear the first tagline of a candidate which is usually not the most relevant. "He’s anti gay." I’m not saying this is irrelevant, but like it or not there are more important issues than that right now. Many more things need to be looked at like you said. Why did they give him this money? I seriously doubt it was just because he is anti gay. Who are the people he’s running against? What are their policies that will most affect the bottom line of the company?

  • Businesses do not provide funds based on personal feelings. It’s a business decision. The only political aspirations the company cares about are which candidate leans favorably towards policies that will make the business most profit. No matter which person they give money to somebody is not going to be happy about it because every candidate on opposite sides, even some on the same side, of the political spectrum have different viewpoints on issues.

  • And even then you only pick the candidate that most accurately represents you. There may be issues you totally disagree on, but you’ve got to prioritize them. I will say this though, I am for gays being able to marry and have the same rights and all of that, but I have never seen a group of people go into a store with instruments and a camera and dance and sing because a company contributed funds to a candidate that was pro gay marriage. The argument could be made that that is free speech.

  • Unfortunately there are two things wrong with that. One, even though the store is open to the public, it is private property and would not be recognized as a place for a “protest” to be located. Two, you can’t tote free speech around and then deny it to someone else and boycott them. A way of communication the corporation has is donating contribution funds to the candidate they believe will represent them best. Yes, corporations under law are actually considered people since after the Civil War.

  • THIS IS NOT WHAT HAPPENED THOUGH. They gave 15,00 to MN forward who THEN gave it to Emmer who just so happens to be against gays. There was nothing wrong with what happened. Nothing about this money was about anti-gays. >.< so seriously??? You're not supporting Target because of something that you don't even know happened like people say it did??? Don't boycott Target. Don't boycott Best buy. They're great stores and boycotting with do nothing mainly cuz they didn't do anything bad.

  • Lets understand this: Target Management made a very unpopular decision, and the people responded. Boycotters are well within their rights, and the effect will be felt by the Target shareholders. Ultimately, making such a controversial decision was a big risk for very little benefit.

I love Target: but I'm not shopping there until they make amends . This is a vote, like any other vote - only this time you are voting with your dollars..

  • @GorillaDesperado Target did not give any thing to any anti gay type thing EVER. They gave 150,000 to MN forward who gave it to Emmer who JUST SO HAPPENS TO BE ANTI GAY. Nothing about the money was against gays or for anything anti gay.

  • @fashionbug312

I beg to differ. Minnesota Forward is a political action committee - a private group funded by corporations. - the idea is to forward business aims in Minnesota. However, MN Forward does not hide it's candidates from it's sponsors, and Tom Emmer is virulently anti-gay. Target knowingly gave money to support a PAC that supports an anti-gay politician - an extremist. And the shareholders of Target understand the impact of such actions as Target loses sales.

  • target gives money to planned parenthood, stop the copmlaining ppl!!

  • @charleshdowns hahaha ur retarded...u might as well shove a bat wrapped with sandpaper up ur ass and call it a day....

  • Where can I get a haircut like that?

  • The sad thing is Target uses there freedom of speech!!!! And these people throw a fit!!!! Hello it is called not everyone has the same views get over it!!!! GO TO WALMART I AM SURE YOUR SHOPPING EXPERIANCE WILL BE SO MUCH BETTER HAHAHA really people if this is your biggest concern you really need to get over yourself!!!! Do you even realize how much Target gives to the local communities and how much volunteer time there team member give.... Trust me it out wieghs this completely!! Cry me a river

  • This boycott thing is so selfish & stupid; they don't care about the Target's employees and their family (What a surprise..!! LOL). They just care about their nasty asses. Now, my friends and I will shop more at Targets. We can buy groceries too at Super Target, btw. NO long line-ups.

  • Who CARES? They can DONATE to who they want!

  • Im glad target voices their opinions with political donations. This is America and the men and women who run the Target Corp. have the same rights as you to voice their opinion regarding politics and the direction of our country. Boycott these companies all you want, nobody forces you to shop anywhere. If they took the opposite view, you would love them. I hope you pay into unemployment to help the thousands that would lose their jobs if this boycott actually worked

  • I see no reason why Target should apologize. We are not judging people, we are simply stating what God's word says is sin, end of story. It is not the person you hate but the sin. Target is absolutely right and I applauded them! If they gave 150,000 for the gay's nothing would be said. Well done Target! It is about time we run this country based on the word of God and stop trying to change it to fit our own selfish needs.

  • @99jerker WOW! what a great way to spread "the good word" by posting religion and hate in the same sentence. So if chocolate was a sin in your book I guess you would boycot it as well , right? I would have had more respect for you if you outright said " I hate gay people". But no, you want to be ignorant about it.

  • It seems obvious that you have no Idea what Target actually did. You keep talking about not giving your business to Target, but you say you don't know why,and want Target to explain to you why they did something you don't know about. Here's what Happened...Taregt donated money to a non profit organization that supports lower taxes for big business, and they intern donated money to some Republicans who also do not support gay marriage. Target had no control over where that non profit donated to.

  • Target can support whomever they wish...you can boycott if you want, of course. I will continue to shop there. Boycotts never work!! It usually does the opposite.

  • @FrankieJGP agree

  • Hilarious that you would quote a "statistical gay stereotype" to support your complaint. Wealthy gays shop at Restoration Hardware and Pottery Barn--duh....EVERYBODY knows that ; D [You are totally lame for whining over this.]

P.S. I have not heard that Target's many gay employees are giving up their jobs for the "cause", so it must not be that offensive. Oh, and the "rising up" comment....ugh. If I were gay I would be embarrassed of you representing.

  • These companies care more about the economy and stability of our country than your sexual preferences. If democrats stay in office the economy tanks and nobody has a job. If conservatives are supported the economy can turn around. Business men are trying to save their business. Your sexual preferences are not important.

  • People that think Target has an "anti-gay agenda" are fuckin' RETARDS.

  • What hasn't been brought up is that the money donated to the group supporting Emmer also has ties to Bradlee Dean and "You Can Run But You Can't Hide", a whacko militant christian rock group who praise the "morality" of backwards 3rd world nations who criminalize homosexuality (or even association with homosexuals) and enforce such laws with the death penalty.

It's not a matter of a contribution to someone who is simply being a little "anti-gay".

  • Those fucking hippes are worse that hobos, illegal immigrants, and terrorists combined. This is America. If a company wants to donate money for a cacause, then there is nothing you can do about it. So, get used to it. You want to make the country better? Take a bath.

  • So it is wrong for Target to donate money for "political" purposes and all these communists are mad and want to boycott and harrass the company. PG&E donated alot of money to support the opposition to Prop 8, but that is ok. What fucking hypocrites.

  • They did it to buy political power.

  • look, Target is pro-business and donated to Emmer who is pro-business, PERIOD! This is ludicrious how nuts people are getting over Target. I guess I will have to shop there more to make up for this ridiculous outcry. Man, people are so hyper-sensitive these days!

  • @dgregoria Not true. Target's CEO is anti-gay, and Target contributed to the pro-Proposition 8 side.

  • They did it because it is profitable to them to support these politicians. Even more so than alienating a certain customer base.

  • Tom Emmer will not get into office. Anyways The Democrats have control of Minnesota.

  • @Whiteboymdew technically right....but look at pawlenty

  • @fearlessleader20101 But, you look at President election wise, Minnesota has been Democratic since 1976. But as for governors go, they have 26 Republican governor compared to Democratic 5. Minnesota state senate wise currently Democratics hold 46 seats in the body, compared with 21 for the Republicans. Basically they are incontrol under a Republican. That will change soon however. Minnesota could get some Gay Rights, they would had some of the Pawlenty wouldn't have vetoed.

  • @Whiteboymdew one more thing.....i wish that the democrats could get rid of michelle bachmann

  • @fearlessleader20101 Why is that ?

  • @Whiteboymdew, because she is a raving lunatic and a tea party whack-job

  • @Whiteboymdew

If the people of Minnesota keep supporting that whack job Bachmann, anything is possible. She is a sick half-wit.
