Gosh, I've watched this video so many times, and my heart still breaks everytime I see it. I'm terribly sorry for your losses :( Henry and Beau are up in Heaven being the best brothers they can be to each other :) Who knew that such a precious dog could become a part of the family? I just cried my eyes out watching this...Im a 33 yr old man and i lost my Daxy last yr in March and this brought back a lot of memories, we had Daxy with us for nearly 16 yrs....this video made me realise how much they become part of us while we have them...
think an average sausage dog can live for around 15years? but mine died 3months ago at 10 because of lung cancer :( thinking positively actually it's not that bad for Henry :).
Your video is a precious tribute to what our doxies mean to us. I have had doxies all my life, and have two right now. This made me cry, but it is a loving tribute to Beau. I am so sorry for your loss, and I appreciate you sharing Beau's life with the rest of the world.

I can see how smart and good friend he have been. I have "Dackels" Dash dogs my whole live. Our is now 13, still very well. Somethimes like a "jong Dog". Sche walk me every morning and Afternoon evary Day. She tell us what she will and when and we listen to her, so as she listen ( sometimes) to us. When she dont will or she have beter idea which direction we go then we do it her way. That's Democratie:).
My wife and I lost our Dachound Buford last April. Sure was hard. I know how hard it is to loose a special four legged friend.... Since then we have a new addition to our house Eddy.. Think this is a nice way to remember him
Oh God, it breaks my heart... i have two dachies (videos up on youtube), and I rue the day I will lose them. Life is so cruel when it comes to pets... lives are cut too short, and they give you the fullest feeling in life. Through my lowest lows, my dogs have always given me something to look forward to. This is such an amazing and beautiful video that has captured my heart. This makes me think of my dachshund Ozzy. Even if he is still with me my mom is running the threat of giving him up to a pound because we are struggling to housebreak him but he won't listen. I was about to give up and lose faith, but this video inspired me to never give up. I love Ozzy so much with all my heart and i couldn't bear giving up and watch him being sent to a pound. Ahh,so so sweet. I can't believe some of the photos from when Beau was younger are the spitting image of my dachs Ida. She has exactly the same wire hair and slightly sprouting beard! haha! She's the only oneout of the litter who never developed the full headof wireyness!!! Absolutely beautiful, I'd love to show you a picture, you'd be surprised at the similarities. Love dachshunds,don't think I'd ever have anything else now! Although the 2 I have are enough for the time being! x

I have tears in my eye, and it's not even my dog. I know how it is tho...we have lost 4 dogs over the years. We currently have 10 dogs, 6 of which are doxies. Our oldest dog is 16, gets around mighty slow and needs help sometimes with stairs. All our dogs were rescued, all came from a hard life. But we give them the best remaining years of their lives before they head to the Bridge...someone has to love them! Keep them close at heart, because it is a great unconditional love you get back.
@BritishInvasion91 Yes, Henry was our second dachshund. We got him when Beau was 5 years old. Beau was SO happy and a great big brother to Henry. They had great times together. We have yet to put up a memorial video for Henry. Our Henry died last June at 13 years old, way too short of a time. I didn't think I could love another dog as much as I did Beau, but Henry stole my heart. We now have Larry who is one year old and another heart thief.
@Henry1P Ah that's too bad about Henry. I love black and tan dachshunds. I mean I love all dachshunds but black and tan ones are great. You should put together a video for Henry!
@Henry1P - I just lost my Macy, she was a smooth coated dachshund. She was just 3 1/2 years old, I miss her so much. She had disc degenerated disc disease. I am so worried to get another dachshund, but I can't imagine having any other kind of dog.
R.I.P Beau Dachshund is the best kind of dogs ever =) they live long and will always be ur Trusted Friend they are also 1 of the Healthies kind of dogs only Problem they have is the whit there backs if they get to heavy
I have a black & tan smooth haried mini Dachshund and a min pin..both are 14 y/o & I see them getiing very tired too easy and they sleep all day and all night now, but still have a spark in their eyes..I am sorry for your loss. I've had many pets in my life, and as with having many pets I have had many losses. The bond one can have with a pet is deeper and more loving the one can have with most people. Yet, when one door closes, another opens, and life will go on. Saddness will fill your heart, and you will never truly get over the pain, merely learn to live with it, but try to enjoy life, it is what they would want.
It's amazing how much they become family, isn't it? I also had to have my dog put to sleep in her last stages of cancer - a very painful thing to have to do. I am sorry for your loss, but what a beautiful dog you were able to have in your life, and many precious memories.
What a little sweetheart. I had to euthenize my little b/t mini a few years ago after 15 years of devoted friendship and love. They are such precious little creatures. So sorry for your loss.
Seems like Beau had a wonderful life as part of a loving family who treated their pet as a valued member of the family. Would be wonderful if all animals were treated with such respect and love.

This reminds me of my doxie who passed away recently... we got her when I was only 4 years old. She lived to be 18 years old. Her name was Martha. ;~; RIP old girl...
This used to make me very sad, but i realized that we shouldn't look ahead with sadness, but with optimism, if theres one thing this video has showed me, it is love and cherish and enjoy things close to you while you can, and unfortunately the day will come when all things have to move on, but until that day comes, make the most out of the time you have with your dog, or you friends, or your family.

This reminded of my wire-haired weiner dog Odie. My family and I adopted Odie in 2004. He was such a joy to our family! He was always a sweet boy who cared about everyone around him. Sadly in July of 2008 Odie was diagnosed with Cancer and later died on December 7, 2008. I love you Odie!! Rest in peace boy and I will see you in heaven one day!

I know exactly how you feel about your dog in this vid. I had one but it was similar to the one at 36secs and his name was Cinder, he lived to 15years. one day when i came home from school he was gone.. my parents took him and put em down without me gettin to say good bye to my best friend. Makes me so sad to think about that but its nice to see a vid such as this to help me remember the little turd that he was, thanx so much for this, we can remember em together. ;)
This is a wonderful tribute...he obviously had a great life and lots of fun. Once I stop crying, I'll go back to work. We lost our 14 year dear last year and it still hurts more than anything ever has. We have a new puppy so we are busy, but you never ever forget your past friends. I had a black and tan silver dapple smooth Dachshund he passed away 18 months ago and I miss him dearly! I have a pug/beagle mix now and I love him but I hope to have a dachshund again one day! Did you get another doxie?? This video brought tears to my eyes! How old was Beau when he passed away? Mine was 4 months away from being 13 years old!
Unfortunately this is the penalty dog owners must eventually go through and when to let go, we have a Dac's called Coco here on Cyprus, now our life has changed, we cannot go anywhere without her..had many breeds of dogs in my life but Dachshunds are one of there own, great little dogs.

I lost my darling Tadpole and then Charisma, at ages 11 and 13. They were both miniature dachshunds - the best dogs I have ever had. Hopefully they will meet Beau!

Great video, my wife cried watching it because our beloved standard wirehaired Fritz is 14 and is going strong. We love him as much as you do with your dog thru this great video. When your happy he is happy. When your sad he is sad. Has been curled up next to my wife for 14 years so far at night at sleep time. No smell, no snoring, and no problem. A true family gem we would gladly trade all our property for. Thanks, once again.

Beau was nearly 16 years old. His health had been in decline for awhile and then he took a drastic turn for the worse. We had to release him from his sickness, allowing the vet to put him down. It was the last act of kindness we could do for our boy.
@Henry1P I just had to put my dog down about a week ago, she was 19. she was not a Dachshund, but i do have one. But How did you cope with the loss of your dog? Because after this long, its not even like its a dog, its family. and me and my family are having a very hard time with our loss as well.

@Henry1P oh.Our 5 year old shorthair,Copper,had to be put down in July.He broke his back,which,sadly,broke an important vein.So he was slowly bleeding to death.I couldn't have that,so we put him down.

I feel your pain...we have a darling little miniature daschund (Winnie) that is such a sweet girl and so good with my two active grandsons (3 and 5)! I love you daschund, it looks like he was very loved. Something i figured is that you live very close to where i lived in Gurnee Illinois, by waukegan where they also do the polar bear plunge. Question, was Beau a standard or mini, he looked amazing and very healthy at an old age. Must have had good doggy parents.

i had three miniature daschunds, all the same age, unfortunately lost all 3 of them within 6 months last year. my little one was 14, while the other two were 13 years old. mine had to go because her back legs wouldnt work, just drug herself around everywhere. when i took her to the vet she wouldnt let me put her down, lol. so i held her while they gave the needle. needless to say she died happy.

Ahh this just made tears come to my eyes. We have three doxies our old girl is 12 and nearing the end... she has hurt her back twice in the last 4 years and doesn't walk very well... The picture of the doggie wheels was heart wrenching! We just bought a dog stroller for her and she loves it.... now she gets to go for walks with the other two!!!

I have a black & tan smooth haried mini Dachshund and a min pin..both are 14 y/o & I see them getiing very tired too easy and they sleep all day and all night now, but still have a spark in their eyes..I am sorry for your loss. I've had many pets in my life, and as with having many pets I have had many losses. The bond one can have with a pet is deeper and more loving the one can have with most people. Yet, when one door closes, another opens, and life will go on. Saddness will fill your heart, and you will never truly get over the pain, merely learn to live with it, but try to enjoy life, it is what they would want.

It's amazing how much they become family, isn't it? I also had to have my dog put to sleep in her last stages of cancer - a very painful thing to have to do. I am sorry for your loss, but what a beautiful dog you were able to have in your life, and many precious memories.

This used to make me very sad, but i realized that we shouldn't look ahead with sadness, but with optimism, if theres one thing this video has showed me, it is love and cherish and enjoy things close to you while you can, and unfortunately the day will come when all things have to move on, but until that day comes, make the most out of the time you have with your dog, or you friends, or your family.

This reminded of my wire-haired weiner dog Odie. My family and I adopted Odie in 2004. He was such a joy to our family! He was always a sweet boy who cared about everyone around him. Sadly in July of 2008 Odie was diagnosed with Cancer and later died on December 7, 2008. I love you Odie!! Rest in peace boy and I will see you in heaven one day!

I know exactly how you feel about your dog in this vid. I had one but it was similar to the one at 36secs and his name was Cinder, he lived to 15years. one day when i came home from school he was gone.. my parents took him and put em down without me gettin to say good bye to my best friend. Makes me so sad to think about that but its nice to see a vid such as this to help me remember the little turd that he was, thanx so much for this, we can remember em together. ;)

This is a wonderful tribute...he obviously had a great life and lots of fun. Once I stop crying, I'll go back to work. We lost our 14 year dear last year and it still hurts more than anything ever has. We have a new puppy so we are busy, but you never ever forget your past friends. Thanks for sharing, I loved it and will watch it frequently.

I had a black and tan silver dapple smooth Dachshund he passed away 18 months ago and I miss him dearly! I have a pug/beagle mix now and I love him but I hope to have a dachshund again one day! Did you get another doxie?? This video brought tears to my eyes! How old was Beau when he passed away? Mine was 4 months away from being 13 years old!

Unfortunately this is the penalty dog owners must eventually go through and when to let go, we have a Dac's called Coco here on Cyprus, now our life has changed, we cannot go anywhere without her..had many breeds of dogs in my life but Dachshunds are one of there own, great little dogs.

i remembered my siva .. siva was 2 years when she died for some reasons .. shes got a cold thought it wont get any worse .. till one morning we woke up and shes gone .. i felt a lot of pain .. and i hated my self .. where on earth i was when she needed me the most .. i still cry when ever i get to think of her .. shes the most loving dog i ever had .. i missed her ..

Great video, my wife cried watching it because our beloved standard wirehaired Fritz is 14 and is going strong. We love him as much as you do with your dog thru this great video. When your happy he is happy. When your sad he is sad. Has been curled up next to my wife for 14 years so far at night at sleep time. No smell, no snoring, and no problem. A true family gem we would gladly trade all our property for. Thanks, once again.

Beau was nearly 16 years old. His health had been in decline for awhile and then he took a drastic turn for the worse. We had to release him from his sickness, allowing the vet to put him down. It was the last act of kindness we could do for our boy.

@Henry1P I just had to put my dog down about a week ago, she was 19. she was not a Dachshund, but i do have one. But How did you cope with the loss of your dog? Because after this long, its not even like its a dog, its family. and me and my family are having a very hard time with our loss as well.

@Henry1P oh.Our 5 year old shorthair,Copper,had to be put down in July.He broke his back,which,sadly,broke an important vein.So he was slowly bleeding to death.I couldn't have that,so we put him down.

Beau was as we liked to call him, a not so wirey wirehaired dachshund. Beau had a tight coat, but as he aged more of his wire furnishings came in.

I feel your pain...we have a darling little miniature daschund (Winnie) that is such a sweet girl and so good with my two active grandsons (3 and 5)! I love you daschund, it looks like he was very loved. Something i figured is that you live very close to where i lived in Gurnee Illinois, by waukegan where they also do the polar bear plunge. Question, was Beau a standard or mini, he looked amazing and very healthy at an old age. Must have had good doggy parents.

i had three miniature daschunds, all the same age, unfortunately lost all 3 of them within 6 months last year. my little one was 14, while the other two were 13 years old. mine had to go because her back legs wouldnt work, just drug herself around everywhere. when i took her to the vet she wouldnt let me put her down, lol. so i held her while they gave the needle. needless to say she died happy.

Ahh this just made tears come to my eyes. We have three doxies our old girl is 12 and nearing the end... she has hurt her back twice in the last 4 years and doesn't walk very well... The picture of the doggie wheels was heart wrenching! We just bought a dog stroller for her and she loves it.... now she gets to go for walks with the other two!!!
