  • It took hundreds of years of slow, gradual development for Western Europe to become true Democracies, complety unrealistic to expect iraq and afghanistan to change overnight.

  • How the fuck is some news channel with an opinion going to have an effect on how a soldier guns his enemies down and wins a battle from thousands of miles away?

These stump jumpin' FAUX news junkies have TERRIBLE arguments.

  • International arrogance is not a virtue. It is unamerican. Empire and imperialism are unamerican. Therefore, the neocons are UNAMERICAN!! Fuck em

  • Not only is neoconservatism a failure in American foreign policy, but it is absolutely arrogant to think that your nation or gov't is so much better that you can decide what's best for other nations and impose your gov't on everyone else. If the neocons had their way, we'd have at least 5 wars with Middle Eastern theocracies and dictatorships. Imagine that!

  • We can't impose democracy on them, just as they could not impose tyranny on us

  • People in this country have left their brains in the pickle jar. It's so sad how people have no problem imposing Democracy with the barrel of a gun on a Muslim country whether they like it or not.

  • Comment removed

  • Actually, the USA took a demoncratic Iran and then installed the Shah. Then 29 years later they're a Theocracy practically.

  • Lets not forget that we are not really a democratic country ourselves, we have two parties that are almost the same, we've had stolen elections, and look at what they are try to do Ron Paul. Talk about subverting the democratic process. Of course this is all irrelevant, the war was a lie from start to finish.

  • SA is right

In our war of independence we fought an occupation.

In Iraq they are fighting an occupation.

    As liberators we do great.

    As occupiers we are hated.

In the revolutionary war England had a much more powerful army. They lost because it cost to much to occupy a nation where they were not wanted.

Only the most brutal government can do that.

  • the mideast has always been ruled by religion from hammurabi to pharaoh to yahweh/jehovah/allah

its not going to change anytime soon and americans dont need to die so oil companies and military contractors can make more money

  • its for oil.

    whats this crap about "democracy/freedom"

they use that just like they say democracy/freedom were under attack on 9/11

    it sells to the SHEEPLE

  • Basically with the example of the first caller, we should understand that we could have to let Iraq change itself into something better, rather than enforce our will. Maybe it would not have ended up as a democracy, maybe they could have developed something else. The most we should have done was remove Saddam if that was in fact a good idea, and then left it to the people. That probably could have been done in a short amount of time if that was the focus.

  • A country can never be free as long as foreign soldiers control their neighborhoods, walk their streets, harass them at check points and control their government and decide what form of government they must choose. Anyone who believe you can set someone free by dropping bombs on them is a psycopath.

  • We easily believe what we wish to be true. I wish george Bush was a wise Leader. I wish the USA was a Republic. I wish we were always the good guys. The facts and history prove otherwise.

  • People talk themselves into supporting the war(s) and occupations of other countires. I want to be a proud American too but I think I could be prouder not lying to myself, and instread doing what I can to put our country on the right track.

Our government and people in power are working towards a one worlld socialist government (read: CFR). Our occupation of over 130 countires around the world is proof!. This is not a theory it is fact.

  • I couldn't agree with you more!

  • To the first caller...We're a Republic, not a Democracy. Why we're trying to spread democracy around the world is beyond me...

  • Correction - we USED to be a Republic. That ended in 1865, sadly. I want our Republic back.

God bless and free South Carolina!

  • We are SUPPOSED to be a Republic. Since 1865 we have been a Tyranny.

  • Who the F is talking about a NUKE?

That is not RELATED at all, why would we drop a bomb on a place we invaded for oil,?

also, why the F did they drop nukes on CITIES in Japan? Cities of citizens..

  • I agree. I'm so sick of the "nuke them all" mentality.

Point is... we dropped nukes on cities in Japan because Japan was actively fighting a war against us.

Difference: Iraq has never started or instigated a war against the U.S. Kuwait? Sure. Iran? Sure (with our help, even), but they've never gone after us directly.

  • Before anyone gets on a kick about WMDs... think of this: the US was in an arms race with the Soviet Union from the end of WWII until the 80s. The Soviets had amassed tons of nuclear weapons, and we didn't actively invade their country or start a war with them.

  • Although, to be honest, we did instigate a conflict that would eventually drain the Soviets of their resources in a war that we knew couldn't be won because of the terrain of the country involved. That country was Afghanistan, and the regime we armed was the Taliban.

  • Not really, the taliban wasn't even formed then, we gave a handfull of expensive high tech weapon to defeat high tech soviet weapon. but the mujahadeen was mostly funded by muslim states and some cia money to important people and armed by both muslim states and china. But we gave them all other peripheral support no doubt. We didn't instigate the afghan russo war at all, that's just not true.

  • Getting back to the point, the "nuke them all" mentality, with regards to the middle east, is pure bullshit that wreaks of ignorance and, I would go so far to say, ethnic and religious prejudice.

The main argument I get when I question people about their position to nuke a country full of largely innocent people is that a few bad apples ruined the bunch. Seems like the same mentality terrorist organizations use to target the U.S. Think about it.

  • Yes, people need to fight for thier own freedom and their choice of what that is.

If they want to be communists or capitalists, that's up to them.

This occupation of other countries has got to stop now.

  • What the hell does negative media have to do with the way the war was handled? The media isn't directing this war. The media isn't running the country. The media isn't deciding how the money gets spent. How can anyone blame the mismanagement of this war on the media?! Are they insane?

That caller is a grade A moron.

  • The MSM has everything to do with the war! Why don't you look and see who owns the MSM and what their interests are. Example NBC is owned by GE who is one of the top 10 defense contractors and who reaps huge profits building jet engines for aircraft, do you think they would allow any true anti war info to be broadcast that would hurt any defense negotiations? Wake up kitten and do some research instead of thinking you know whats happening because you wtch the NEWS!

  • :slaps forehead: Everything I said went over your head. The caller said the war is going badly because of all the bad press... I'm saying bad press doesn't make the war mismanaged, the president does.

  • You blame the thunder for the lightning destroying your home. The news media is just an infected sore. The virus lies deep in the bone. This Government is Evil. The NWO runs it all.
