  • amazing

  • Wow! I have never heard Gadd play an unmusical solo! To me he is like Picasso on drums!! EVERY great drummer who came after Steve WAS influenced by him!! And they will tell you that themselves!! One in a million drummer!! LEGEND!!

  • when you achieve the STATE of conceptual execution you will feel it all come together. Gadd is a master of his style I have learned so much from him but the most important is to know b4 you go....LEARN THE RUDIMENTS!!!!!!

  • so wonderful and so so.... Steve gadd :)

  • I love steve's solo. They are more melodic not just abunch of crazy fast fills. Very groovey

  • No kidding. And his execution is flawless. He plays exactly what he is thinking, and he completely pulls off everything he tries. So good.

  • Very tasteful solo work here, I've always liked Steve Gadd.

  • The germane point here, is not that other younger drummers can do this and more - but that this is Gadd's thing; it's his voice, his style and his originality that allowed legions of successors to play with more thoughtful grooves.

Just enjoy it, for Gadd's sake!

  • 2:50 - 3:00 sweeeeeeet!

  • God Bless you Steve.

  • Sanches, Blade, Hammilton, Erskine....and many others....time goes on..new musicians coming up with new experiences..just like steve did back in 70-80..

Steve is still great...and he will forever be honnored for the clasical rudimental back beat groove...

But he aint god or jesus......there are already lots of great drummers out there doing things Steve cant do...and they have also a great groove...

  • I'm not sure there are many drummers playing stuff that Steve "can't do." But he isn't god. Agreed. The cool thing about Gadd is that he is so versatile and he ALWAYS executes. Always. His playing is always tasteful and complex enough to wow people. Those other guys you mention are amazing, too. Brian Blade, Jeff Hamilton, Peter Erskine... those guys are some of my favs, too. I do always come back to Gadd and get surprised at how good he really is though. He played some pretty amazing stuff.

  • Reading this comments here is pure steve gadd`o mania.....lets face it..the gadd groove is awesome...but we are living in 2008...and there is 1000 drummers with a groove far much better than gadd....gadd sound like this in 80 too....and maybe thats the best thing to do...keep the gadd thing going...but just a bit boring..and silly this gadd o mania thing...check Sanches, Blade, Hammilton, Erskine....and enjoy the sound of 2000.

  • Would you mind giving me the first names of these ppl, since I'm not at all familiar with any of them and would like to check them up and see what kind of groove they have. I'd be REALLY interested in someone who has "a groove far much better than gadd." as you put it. =D

  • oh and that's groove I'm interested in only, technical showoffery is not for me.

  • haaahahahahaha

  • swing and groove combined in one person... incredible

one of his best solos... if not the best...

  • does anybody know the title and year of the concert/dvd/gig this came out of? tnx.

thanks for posting. it was the purest form pleasure i've had for a long time.

  • Good Solo! But i have seen him make betters!!

  • steve gadd a legend of the drums

  • Gadd is simply the shit. Fuckin' love him. An inspiration for years. And never disappoints.

  • man....I can feel that all the way down in my soul!

    in gadd we trust.

  • Just ... Steve God'd'

  • I just had to skip the bass solo, I'm not saying it's bad, just totally not my style, can't listen to it.

Steve Gadd's solo on the other hand..darn :|

  • That's fucking Anthony Jackson!

To bad you can't appreciate it,

    but I can't explain some of the stuff I don't like either...hahaha.....

Check him out with Michell Camilo and Dave Weckl....

  • Anthony Jackson rules!

  • thats probably the most amazing musical drumming ive ever heard

  • WOW

  • No words can describe something like that ...
