MrWilDemon - Thank you for taking the time to comment. Yes, I see your point. I guess it is generally safe to say that power, etc. of both sides must be approximately judged. I was showing a drill to practice for improving leverage that might be of use to know. Take good care and again thank you for sharing your views. Fred
Certainly a valid potential option. Please see my Jujutsu 101 A Little Philosophy #1; it really, as you know, comes down to balance disruption. I was showing a point dealing with leverage. Whether one strikes the groin, throws, stomps on foot, etc. will all depend on the particular context, including what one's body type can do against the attacker. I appreciate your sharing. Take good care. Fred
I can't believe that I got put in a bear hug tonight by the bouncer at a night club, and I didn't remember the escape for it. The escape is on of the first BJJ move I ever learned over 15 years ago :'(
Finally, a self-defense move that is based on body mechanics and leverage and not just strength. As a woman I found Fred's drill both practical and simple to remember in a moment of stress/fear. Thank you.
nice move i dont now this option xD , a roll into de leg xD but using elbow to free me xD

Hmm, I would go for the throw, not just unclenching his arms. It seems too risky to me. But if there are multiple opponents, it might just be useful.

I've been training Kung Fu for 9 years and I feel like I'm wasting my time after seeing Fred throw that steroid abuser around like he's nothing.
