@marksclimax spend a lot of time with the instrument. as much as possible! it's definitely helpful to run scales and arpeggios, but run them hearing them as Music rather than just exercises. start to see the shapes that you like and learn the same shapes in different keys too :) most of all, have fun with it
@Senj1n i disagree with that i enjoy dubstep along with a huge range of other styles of music and i play in a symphonic wind ensemble along with that im far from braindead sooooo just beacause yo udont liek a style of music doesnt make everybody who listens to it a lower grade of human to yourself
for those using ableton i recommend Tony's Chords, a session file containing all chords and scales, i use it to send led feedback to my launchpad. just google it, its free. that guy's work is fascinating. it made my composition ridiculously easier.
@wilkes982 don't worry about it. when you're learning piano, you spend the majority of time developing skills to play it physically. you don't need that anymore. you can learn all this theory in little time and use your computer to play the notes :)
@meffle It is not about the Machine it is about the skill you acquire that you can apply no matter what program or machine you use....we all can do this just need the skill...HAPPY PRODUCING
Blue note is like a blue balls. It creates allot of tension that wants to release really fast. And it feels nice when it does... I don't know why, but this makes me to remember things allot better.
@northerndownpour101 probably because i didnt have a sustain pedal that day so to illustrate all the notes at once i had to use both hands sometimes :)
@northerndownpour101 It's called the root note. You play the root note of a certain chord in the left hand to add bass to the sound. It's really simple. So fill in the blank, the root note of a C major chord is ___.
@youacuiness If you are talking about the hardware it's basically a controller by Novation(Remote SL i think). No sounds can be produced on its own, instead you use it to play soft synths or other hardware.
thanks all for checking the video out - it was a real pleasure to share some basic theory that will hopefully help some music makers out there. dubspot are definitely doing their thing helping educate and spread knowledge. check my channel page for some live clips, studio clips and tracks. @mashibeats
@ssiegert12 arm it for recording and then select which midi controller you want to trigger it (computer keyboard, midi controller, etc). read the live manual or google it. asking questions on youtube shows you just want other people to explain everything without just looking it up.
@Atedaze8 thanks a lot man you'd be surprised how long I've been searching for that answer couldn't find it on google or anywhere but got it now thanks.

@xenocore01 Yes. I use the Sonuus G2M to hook up my guitar to sofsynths like FM8 all the time. I think differently on guitar than I do on keys and it helps you create differently. Monophonic, but it tracks the pitch very well. Great little box, look it up. - Matt from Dubspot
