  • What servos do you use to do this 3d ??

  • @biribarj

The servos on the cyclic are HS65HB's.

The servo on the tail needs to be a digital servo, and I went with the Futaba 9254, but that's for 600 sized helis(It's a big servo, adds unnecessary weight), the Futaba 9257 is a good servo to put on the tail of a 450 tho.

The tail is important, there are some good gyro/digital servo combos out there for around $100, it's money well spent, if you want to have a tail that holds during 3D, you need to spend the money on the tail.

  • wow!can you tell me your throtle curve, max. and min.pitch angle, and your swash mix percentage?

thanks!!!cause she is flying so hard and powerfull that i`m looking for some setup like that!

  • Sure, it's at 100% throughout, and about -13+13 deg pitch. Swash ARF, not sure, but the cyclic pitch isn't that extreme, only +/-6deg if you measure on the main blade, both for forward/backward cyclic.

You need carbon fiber blades to have a solid flight, I had the pro woodies on before this and it feels much more sluggish/sloppy in the air, you get sharp control with the carbon fiber blades.

Motor is a scorpion 2221-6 on an 11T, that's enough power not to bog. THe 430XL on 13T is good too.

  • Oh ya, and the batteries are important for power, just as important as motor/ESC/blades. I was using the ZIPPY-K's, or Rhino's from hobbycity, they're only $32 and they seem way better than the EVO25's!

  • Hey David!

    Awesome flying!!

Sean and I just watched this and were super impressed!

Say hi to Lisa for me!

  • Haha, thanks!! Glad you enjoyed it, it's super fun to fly too! As fun as the mini one, times 100. haha.

Will do! Hope everything's going great for you!

  • Mad skilz buds!Hahahah!

  • haha, thx. SIMSIMSIM!

  • sweet

  • Haha thanks, ya the CF blades are awesome. These are cheap ones I order for about $25 a pair, they work well enough!

  • where u get them from?

  • From hobbycity, they're the X-400 325mm CF blades.
