  • plumbed in backwards or the outlet manifold is broken

  • I bet Those homeowners wernt happy

  • the only time i seen resin flow out like that is when there is a crack or hole in the ditributer tube or it is plumbed in backwards or a crack in the valve itself around the distibuter tube.

  • How did you fix up the faulty fitting inside the softner? Why was it passing?

  • @kittyslayer1 I didn't. I simply put the softener on bypass. The home owner did not want to spend any money on fixing the softener. They simply wanted their water to come out of the taps properly.

  • If you were a layman I would cut you some slack. If you feel like you have to go on You Tube and give expert advice, you should at least use the correct nomenclature. I have a chip on my shoulder only because I have seen so many plumbers mess up water softeners due to their "God Syndrome"

  • @waterscience That'd be "God complex", "dip shit".

  • there is no dip tube in a water softener dip shit, its a riser, a dip tube is in water heater

  • @waterscience dip tube, riser tube, distributor tube, outlet manifold, what ever. The tube that takes the softened water from the bottom and strains the beads out before the water exits. I'm pretty sure everyone knows what I mean. I do understand your childish need to belittle someone in order for you to feel good about yourself though. Good luck with that :)
