@halouser248 I try using Photoshop CS3 And i use the leassow[Sorry for this bad enghlish] and then i pick a color then i remove unwanted colors with the undo pen...Then Picasa Photo Editor for giving the shine and lines back comparing with original ,And then Photoshop Pro to give the rainbow a light color.

No big deal.

@halouser248 you can download a free program called gimp 2.6 , I would really recommend it, then there are plenty of tutorials which can help you do colour overs

@halouser248 to do that you have to either use a gradient brush on the gradient tool on your color over programs (some dont come with it though)
