i think they take it maybe a little too slow for my taste; and the sound quality of the recording doesn't do the great hall justice. all said though, the string quartet is obviously a wonderful quartet and this is a good concert. but i'm spoiled, haha, so i'll stick to my favorite recordings

@huuuhhhhh sorry just noticed this recently. my opinion has definitely evolved. i find i like the slow first movement more than the other movements here. my favorite recording is the skampa quartet. that's the only one i own that i like (i have the schoenberg quartet recording as well but it's not good). i've also heard the janacek quartet perform it, and they live up to their name.
