Those are great tips for getting them to let go. I knew not to pull them off if ever bitten but didn't know of any good ways to get them to let go. We got two california kings last august. They sure are beautiful creatures.
The other snake in the background was trying to escape anyway my pet California king snake has only bit me once because I held a day after feeding instead of two
I love how the other one slowly peaks up like that lol very cute.
But I have been bit by burms an macklotts an anacondas but when my king snake bit me it pissed me off more then any of my other reptiles biteing me lol
hey , bought a cali king a few week back it was tame n didnt go to bite or strike and for sum reason its got aggressive any ideas or any tips? its around a year old healthy and very active cheers danny
@batmandan666 Well it depends on how much you're feeding it and how often. Were there any changes in that? It also depends on what you or the environment smells like. Any changes in that? Any little thing such as different detergent can affect them. Did you go awhile without holding it? Basically, look for any changes, big or small. Let me know if you think of any and I'll try to help. Good luck!
@89kimkaphwan They were being housed together for breeding and he actually prefers to dine in his cage. He gets curious when the lid is open but he would never and has never tried to bite or eat me or any other snake. I know my snakes and I watch them carefully. If I suspected more trouble I would have moved but he wasn't going to do anything and didn't do anything.
@bollywooddvdreviews The bite really didn't hurt. It was more like pressure. And again, it wasn't aggression. She was hungry and I smelled like mice. Totally my fault. Kings can be incredible pets. I would say get one as a baby though so you get to know it and it gets to know you. The male in the cage, I got as an adult and he is incredibly nice. Never bitten, Never struck. Dont be scared though. Once you've been bitten once, it's really no big deal anymore. And you can brag to your friends. ha!
@bollywooddvdreviews I also like them better then corns because corns are usually always active. Kings can be active and calm. So you can mess with them or you can sit down and watch tv with them. So yes, I would really recommend kings unless your an extreme first timer. And even then, if you do your reading, you should be fine. Just get one as a baby and work with it often. If a baby bites, you don't feel it at all. There's no jaw power. You can check out my other King video. Good luck!
