i love the japanese commentators! they make it sound more exciting, some of the commentators here in the states are as exciting as watching mold grow...lol
yea, why isnt he? he got some sick moves that can pwn most people. iono how anyone can kick out of the exploder '98 of his and yet they do. its a crazy world.
exploder is the name of the move he created. it is also known as a t-bone suplex. then the '98 is the year he created the wrist clutch version of it. another name for exploder '98 is wrist clutch exploder.
sorry to say this man. it was an sternness dust alpha. mainly because he hooks the wrist on the outside of the leg furthest to him. gamma is wrist clutch in between the legs and he holds the wrist to the leg closest to him. If there was no rewind or replays, most of us would call it wrong.
I agree. The T-Bone Suplex which Tazz made famous in ECW is a modified Exploder. The T-Bone is more like a belly-to-belly uranage variation than an Exploder. Jun Akiyama's exploder is awesome. Not as good as his wrist clutch version, but still awesome.
Akiyama's right arm is clutching Marufuji's head. Combined with the placement of hiss left arm over Marufuji's left leg, the position is most certainly pseudo-fireman carry...thus making this move a DVD variation.
So, the move performed must be the Sternness Dust Alpha. The commentators also yell "Alpha" after the move. There you go.
For further info on the set-ups of Alpha and Gamma you could visit Puroresu Central.
Incorrect, good sir. When Akiyama does SDG, he hooks the victim's right leg. You can clearly see that he hooks the left leg here, making it Sternness Dust Alpha. SDG is a Wrist Clutch Fisherman Buster, while SDA(the move here) is a Wrist Clutch Northern Lights Bomb.
Damn, Marufuji shouldnt have kick outed from that.

Poor Marufuji...

Marufuji's the fucking man. I don't know how he walks away from half the abuse he puts himself through.

i agree, most people would die with the exploder, and with the buster, hurts just watching

fisher man buster change to sternness dust alpha..
doodlespacificpoker 4 years ago
That was a Sternness Dust Gamma. Alpha is the Wrist Clutch DVD or DVB (whichever you prefer to call it).

Jun Akiyama is amazing, it's a shame his name isn't mentioned enough when discussing Puro.

why is it exploder '98 whats the point of the number

KobashifanSam 2 years ago
Because the move was innovated by Akiyama in 1998. Just like the Tiger Driver 91 was innovated in 1991 by Misawa, hence the numbers.

Jun Akiyama is my hero. Seriously. Yeah Kobashi no sold cancer and Kawada punks bitches, but dammit Akiyama is that deal.

Sternness Dust Alpha if you want to get technical.
SuperJusfighta2 4 years ago
Like I said above, It's Sternness Dust Gamma.

You are indeed correct. Sternness Dust Alpha is a Wrist-Clutch DVB, which this is. Sternness Dust Gamma is a Wrist-Clutch Fisherman's Buster.
TheUltimateFighter1 3 years ago 2
Yea this is a SD Alpha, not Gamma. The Gamma is the Fisherman's Buster with the wrist clutch. The Alpha is the DVB/NLB with the wrist clutch.
WhtMike2006 2 years ago
That's a Sternness Dust, not a fisherman buster. There's a slight difference.
And my GOD it was beautiful.

WWE Day Of Reckoning 1 has his moveset. So his the one who invented the exploder.
Bigcbryan 4 years ago
that was one of the sickest exploders ive seen(makes sheltons version look weak as hell). and that Sternness Dust Alpha.....ouch.
hellboy17x2 4 years ago
Shelton's really isn't a true Exploder.

The T Bone Suplex is an Exploder. Akiyama invented it, and Taz does it almost as good as Akiyama.

wow guys..
its a fuckin awesome move is wat it is.. lol...
the first thing is a elevated T-Bone suplex..
then a Fisherman brainbuster
thats all.. now his moves might be called differnet.. but thats wut it is homiez
BlackDragon42 4 years ago
The announcer said "Alpha" so I think that clears any doubts up.
theredraven 4 years ago
that is definatly a fisherman brainbuster
ecw111 4 years ago
No, it's not. He hooks the left leg, not the right one.
SuicidalDragon 4 years ago
Its a Sternness Dust Gamma but with the left leg.
ecw111 4 years ago
Which makes it Sternness Dust Alpha.
SuicidalDragon 4 years ago
He hooks the right leg, indicating that it was Sternness Dust Alpha.
SuicidalDragon 4 years ago
Gamma, because that clearly is much more a Wrist Clutch Fisherman's Buster over a wrist clutch Death Valley Bomb, ad Alpha is.
xTriggerHappy09x 5 years ago
Its Sternnes Dust Gamma

that commentator fucked up actually.
the second move is sterness dust gamma
AAFB 5 years ago
The second move is actually Sternness Dust Alpha.
SuicidalDragon 5 years ago
Alpha is the wrist clutch death valley driver. Gamma is the fisherman brainbuster.

Exactly, and Alpha is what Akiyama did.
