  • When you tightline do you cover your upper waterline or do you apply the eyeliner on the roots of the lashes?

  • @123Jenny90 Cover the roots of the lashes to make them look longer and to keep the liner in place. When you apply it to the upper waterline, it can tend to transfer and look smudgy on the lower lash. I've been loving the marker liner from NYX too for this- it doesn't budge!

  • @HookedOnBeauty Thanks. And then how do you remove the tightline completely?

  • We are all about hair and beauty and thought we had a lot in common!

  • Okay, now did anyone else notice that she looked better at the start of the video? You have a beautiful natural look, lady :)

  • what do you use on your eyebrows, powder or pencil?

  • @cleanfreak73 I like powders- pencils can tend to look too drawn on. I have a ton of brows though so just the right shaping goes a long way for me.

  • I purchased the flat Laura Mercier eyeliner brush and I can't wait for it to arrive! I did buy the caviar eyeliner but returned it to Sephora after trying the MUFE cream liner so I'm going to pair them together and see how it looks!

  • is she wearing mascara at the begining?

  • @69Cortesz Yes, one coat of Clinique Power Lash I think.

  • i really like your eyes! thanks for the vid

  • One of the most helpful vids around.

    Thanks for sharing!

  • Get the product really wet- almost a thick soupy consistency, then just dab it along the upper lashline getting the base of the lashes and not the skin part. Hope that helps!

  • I have tried the tightliner - using Laura Mercier liner and the proper LM brush, but still have trouble not making a mess of my eye. Any tips for proper and beautiful application? Thanks so much?

  • Is the eyeliner brush used for tightlining from laura mercier as well?

  • I usually tight line with Guerlain's Noir loose kohl, but L. Mercier's products are next on my "to do" list!

  • Tight lining was created by Laura Mercier, so make sure and get her eyeliner which was designed for the inner part of the eye to stay there all day and not irritate.

Get the brush too- I have a million brushes and some I get from craft stores, but this one is really specific to this look.

Have an expert at a Laura Counter show you with their tools and see what you think. Wear it around for the day, I think you'll see a big difference.

  • Excellent video on tight lining. It is refreshing to see someone who simply just applies the products and doesn't ramble on incessantly!

    Great job!

  • @HookedOnBeauty How do you remove tight lining from your eye?

  • @minnellasteph24 I use a Q-Tip with a little water and remove it that way. Sometimes though I'll just let it ride til the next day.

  • @HookedOnBeauty Perhaps the modern way of tightlining, but there are many cultures that have been doing it for centuries.

  • everytime i try to eye & tight lining, the bits of dried product always got into my eyes n face, otherwise it'll caught in between my lashes. Did I apply lining the wrong way? How do you fill the gaps in between lashes ?

  • Thank you Misha- I hear so often that advanced techniques are fun to watch, but not useful when some women haven't mastered eyeliner!

  • Thanks so much for making this vid...I really like the tips given during the video and when you hold up the products to identify what is going where. I really like this look as well.

  • Thank you Lisa!

  • Thank you! Very helpful! Lisa
