I commend you for sharing your knowledge on scuba diving off a yak. I have about 2,000 dives off mine and I see a lot you could improve on. My methods are easier, faster and safer... Some quick advice... Never take your fins off after you leave shore.
Pretty cool! You can also get amazing dive stories on the myscubastory site. I think you can post your own stories too. Type myscubastory into google and click on the first seach result !
This is same as my SOT kayak a Wilderness Tarpon 120 ~2007. FYI- I created an outrigger with two paddles, two paddle floats, some webbing, and a rescue sling strap across the two paddles to help get back into the kayak.. It would greatly help with the stability..but you would have to keep an extra paddle. & floats. (Good idea anyway). I get in backwards. Don't have upper body strength to pull into yak.
no, it would be a ton of drag and make paddeling sooo much more difficuly. The weight in the kayak is not an issue for most sit on tops, unless of course the operator is over 300 pounds
@flspearo Thanks mate, a little bit after that comment I actually got a Hobie Outback for fishing and I see your point. You can load those things right up stilla stable platform, the ProAngler even more so.

Would it not be jsut as easy having a tyre inner tube towed behind you with a net inside, quicker to throw the stuff in and less weight int heboat.

mhmm nice idea never thougt going out for a dive in a kayak :)
I think but can become quite tricky if there's just a bit of waves..
one other thing: how is the kayak anchored to the ground?!
