  • Really would love to see Duncan bring home another ring before he hangs it up for good.

  • LOL @ArcadianGenesis. How many 'ifs' and 'buts' can you throw into one stupid argument? The Lakers won 67 games in 2000. Even if Duncan was healthy how can you automatically claim a championship on a 'might have' supposition? Derek Fisher's 04 shot good with 0.1 of a second remaining on the clock. Youtube it right now and see. The Gasol trade was perfectly legitimate. Oh, and the Lakers ripped the Spurs 4-0 in the 2001 WCF and 4-1 in the 2002 WCSF. You must be mentally retarded, seriously dude.

  • This happened 12 years ago and it still gives me the chills. Amazing shot by an amazing person. Thank you Sean.

  • man... i was there!!!!!! nuf said.

  • yeah! t'was a great game.. miracle shot!

  • just awesome!

  • I remember watching this live. Never forget this.

Bob costas: " san antonio's only lead is the final score!"

  • U can tell costas doesnt like the blazers, thats an Fd up statement, but so true, san antonios only lead is the final score theres some satire and irony lol.

  • he fire the 3!... AND HITS IT! im not even a spurs fan, but i loved watching the end of that game live

  • wow that was like a hero shot o_O

  • Sean Elliot's final shot is the greatest moment in the franchise history

  • he stepped out of bounds

  • Where/when?

  • this is the difference of what separates the blazers of being a winner and a loser, lack of execution. Blazers are pathetic, they blew a 19 point lead against SA, and in game 6 against the Bulls in the 92 NBA Finals, a 15 point lead in the 2000 WCF against the Lakers, no matter who you are playing absolutely no excuses, Pippen acted like he was better than Jordan and what happened when he was pushed into a corner, he ducked like a bitch and coward that he is.

  • Man, the Blazers were cocky as hell, but the Spurs whooped them and showed them who the boss was.

  • Sweet jumpers SEAN !

  • Wait - didn't the Spurs sweep the Lakers in the WCF 1999 not Blazers?

  • nope, it's Spurs and Blazers in 1999 WCF. It's in 2001 where Lakers and Spurs met in WCF.

  • Spurs swept the Lakers in the WCSF in 1999.

  • the sperms swept both the gaykers and jailblazers in 1999

  • Is this a Mavs fan?

  • nope

  • but the lakers swept both the Spurs and the Jailblazers in 2001 so now what. Put them out 4-2 in 2002 and again in 2004. As a matter of fact the Lakers killed the Spurs 4-1 in 2008.

  • I knew it was one of those. LOLz

  • the Spurs are coming back next year. Talk all the shit you want for now.

  • Yeah, whatever. You probably said that last year.

  • Were going to have a good team next year.

  • You're probably gonna say that next year.

  • ye ye

  • @RAMMSTEINERD You said this, and now look at them at the top of the NBA.

    Go Spurs Go!

  • The Spurs swept the Lakers in 1999. Tim Duncan missed the playoffs with injury in 2000, or they might have repeated as champs. In 2003 the Spurs beat the Lakers 4-2. In 2004, Tim Duncan dominated the series, and Derek Fisher's shot with 0.4 should not have counted. I still do not accept that loss. In 2008, the Lakers were given Pau Gasol by Memphis, which fucked up the western conference. You don't just give away a player like that. Without Gasol, LA would be mediocre at best.

  • maybe so

  • Before Gasol was traded to the Lakers, the Lakers were tied for 1st place in the Western Conference with the Hornets. What happened in 2001? The Spurs were 1st in the Western Conference before being sweot by the Lakers. 2002? Duncan's MVP year.

  • 2001, 2002. 8-1 record vs. spurs. They were annihilated in 2001. And did the Lakers not give away Caron Butler for less than nothing in 2005?

  • @ArcadianGenesis

Sure doesn't look like Pau was given away now. Gasol-lite is helping knock the Spurms out of the playoffs this year. The Lakers beat the Spurms I believe 3 out of 4 in 2000 WITH Duncan...that was LA's year. You wouldn't have beat LA. 2001 and 2002 showed that. And how in the blue hell do you figure that shot shouldn't have counted? Fish got it off in time...IN YOUR BUILDING! Try again jackass. If anything, that '99 title has an asterisk

  • @cbaldwinjr No, Duncan missed all of the 2000 playoffs due to a torn tendon in his knee. I admit that the Fisher comment deserves more explanation. Here it is: The clock did not start in time. The clock operator clearly started it too late, so yes, Fisher got the shot off in time RELATIVE to when it started - but it started at the wrong time. So in reality, that shot should not have counted. The 99 Spurs were dominant and would've won regardless of the # of games.

  • @ArcadianGenesis

BULLSHIT. I've watched that highlight over 100 times. It starts on his touch. He got it off in time and NO ONE disputes that. And Duncan didn't miss any of the regular season games against the Lakers. That's what I was speaking on. Yeah, you guys were screwed against Phoenix, but again, that team wasn't beating a motivated Laker team. You weren't talented enough.

  • @cbaldwinjr I just watched it right now, and the clock started late. Yeah he got it off in time, but it's dumb that everyone focuses on that and yet forgets about the start of the clock, which is just as important.

  • Haha Pinoy ang gumawa...ni-rip galing sa BTV

    Anyway...

Man I was still a kid when all these happened! And 10 years later, I still cheer for the Silver and Black. And so I say Drive For Five, and Go Spurs Go!

  • Portland had all the talent though, JR Rider, Mighty Mouse Stoudamire, Rasheed, A Young Jermaine O'Neal, Walt Williams, Wasnt Steve Smith on this team or was it Derek Anderson at the 2 gaurd position? Anyway they were such a talented but the Spurs were the stonger and smarter Unit!

  • Neither Smith nor Anderson was there, I believe. It was Jaren Jackson and Mario Elie on the 2-guard.

  • No no, I was talkin about Portland. Remember they both played for Portland as well as the Spurs. I dont think they ever played together on both teams. I'm not sure.

  • Eliot is an underrated BEAST! The Twin Towers of Duncan/Robinson were great no doubt but Eliot was the other killer of that team along with Jared Jackson, Steve Kerr, AJ, & Mario Elie. Eliot was All Star too on this team but not too many ppl remember he made the all star team in 92 or 93 and a couple times after that. They were just too much for the Knicks to handle in the Finals. That was a mean team right there. Duncan was the perfect piece of the puzzle for the Spurs!

  • Man this was an awsome team, I loved watching them before they started the down fall. Jr Rider was so talented...A young Wallace with all that skill and anger. Brain Grant when he had decent knees and would post up. Man I miss this team. Oh yeah and the silent prince Sabonis. I wish they would have won

  • i couldnt agree more

  • I wish they won against the braggard Lakers in 2000.

  • If Tim wasn't injured; they might have repeated.

  • they would have lost in the second round anyway

  • Doubt it. The Suns gave the Spurs more trouble that year than the Lakers. With and without Duncan.

  • you must be smoking too much weed

  • How clever of you. No, check the stats.
