When Iso's/Programs cross over into real life, they retain their impossibly strong immune systems, intelligence, ability to be repaired when damaged, etc..."My gift to the world" as Kevin says. True, a nuke could wipe them out, but where would you target? Especially tricky if they develop the ability to upload themselves onto the internet at will, which is the next logical step in their evolution...just my ideas though.
