i like full size vans. they are the next best thing to a truck. mini vans are ok at least you dont sit near the ground in a mini van like you would in a car.
I had a 1988 E250 with the 5.0L in my late high school years, and for some reason I really liked driving that van, and all my friends loved it to. If you put the pedal to the floor, they are alot faster than they look, but I had to get something smaller 8 -12 miles to the gallon wasn't cutting it...
@mike49418 yeah most people who have never drove a van think they are all slow because of many people trying to get better gas mileage when taking off from a light. Those 5.0's are fast, but you should try a 351 (5.8) or a 460 (7.5) they are quick
I also have a 1987 ford E 250 BUT I let her warm up for at least 10 minutes before I take off in the cold weather. I also love my van and this van took my wife to give birth to my daughter In 1990 and I actually had the police give me a short chase until I was able to explain that my wife was in labor.
Electronic choke might need looked at. Also, in cold weather, you should probably let it idle for a good minute or two before taking off. At least that long to let the oil get flowing.
dude that is the same way I feel about my 84 e-150 5.0. i've had over 10 offers in the last 6 years. It was my first vehicle and I too will have it for the rest of my life.
