  • beautiful !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Perfect. ♥

  • What is beautiful is that you have no distracting mannerisms. I am a dancer myself and have also taught for many years. Normally dancers have movements and some unwanted abhinaya. By refraining from those, you have kept the viewers' interest on just the dance. That is immensely commendable.

  • lindos movimentos! ^^

  • so beautiful..! Thank you

  • After more than 2 years and 620.350 views I suppose she's already famous and rich.

  • Watching this clip has repeatedly brought me light. For the eternity that I have been trapped in the Black Hole of PTSD, nothing has brought me closer to relief than the enduring salvation I have taken watching this clip over and over again. Madam, the place that you have taken me through your eyes, your movement, and your soul, is the place that I go to breathe. For those moments that you have taken me away from the depths of this curse, I thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you

  • i love it

  • I've always believed Indian women are some of the most beautiful women in the world. :-)

  • Woww this is amazing! :D

  • Savitha Great timing.. Accurate steps.. morvelous...

  • Can someone explain to me the red on her fingertips? Is it purely for the look of it or is there a significance to it?

  • MARAVILLOSO! Que belleza de mujer!

  • Maravilloso, que belleza de mujer!

  • wonderful!!

  • very beautiful ...

  • Me encaaaaaaaaanta

  • Nice, Love it so much... I'm not Indian, I'm Iban from sarawak, Malaysia but love Indian classic dance... Remember when Ashwarya Rai & Mahduri Dixit dance? those are great move... i watched their dance over and over again

  • Thank you for bringing back the best memories from India that I have. I lived there 30 years ago, and studied at a school in Panchgani (near Poona). I learned and loved bharatanatyam for 2 years as a little girl. It brought me a great deal of solace and joy while I was away from my family in Canada. I had the same costume that you are wearing in this piece.

Thank you so much. May you be blessed and have wonderful success! -- Mary

  • You are like poetry in motion. I'm positively speechless.

I've been learning Bharatnatyam for almost 10 ears but it would take me lifetime to dance like you do.

I heard that you're in Delhi. Are you planning to teach here?

  • yes madam................u r one of the great bharathanatyam dancer in India with perfection, speed, beauty with flexible body..............u r great

  • One of the best looking bharatanatyam dancers that I've come across

  • i would love to come to your classes if only i lived in northern CA! do you know of any teachers in the LA area you could recommend???

  • I like everything about this choreography: the movements and the shapes of the dancer - they are accurate and geometrical, very expressive, the rythm is JOYFUL and so are the movements! I mean I see a lot of geometry in the shapes of this dance and they are very seductive. they must have a depth of meaning. I study Art so this is why I am able to recognize something very valuable in this dance.

  • Very very beautiful performance! but the musician also sounds so good, who is the singer and how is the song called?

  • Lovely!

  • bharatanatyam is a combination of expressions(facial and eye) foot work and music along with the gathram. they all go together and inseperablee. how can any one perform this dance to a western music?i cant even imagine how horrible it is going to be.....can you please explain ms savitha?if you think it is possible, you can upload one experimental video clip...thanks...

  • @srinivassiddarth no, I do not subscribe to the notion of combining different traditional forms - Western and Eastern, unless the basis for doing it is the best way that you can get your message across. I would advice reflecting deeply on what the message/vision is in this overlay of Western music to an established repertory piece in Bharahtanatyam. I had originally thought that the question posed was about a theme and it's applicability to Bharathanatyam.

  • hello savitha i m a bharatnatyam student and dancer based in maharashtra, i love your clean lines and your dance. i also follow the kalakshetra style. i was wanting to know if u take short courses on dance as i m very interested in learning from u.

  • @shalinirao11 please check my website and I will be updating it with opportunities to do so in the next few months. Thank you!

  • So beautiful!!! This makes me wanna learn Bharatanatyam :)

  • I feel so inspired when I see this dance. Even though I'm American and was not brought up in the tradition, I feel this indescribable connection with Bharathanatyam. I wish I had studied it as a child.

  • laser precise movements... great job!

  • Could you recommend to me some similar music to that featured in this video?

  • @sambro89 - if you look up Bharathanatyam on itunes, you should find similar music available for downloads. Good luck!

  • is a *great fan*

  • I lost the sense of time, I can't believe it's only 3 minutes and something. You are a beautiful woman and a great dancer, this is a little glance of paradise.

  • very beautiful ....

  • beautifully done, my Lady. Truly a delight to watch!

  • Can I ask you, what deities are in the stage with you???

    Are you Vaishnava???

  • @xXxelektropunkxXx the diety is Lord Nataraja - a form of Shiva

  • оч люблю индийские танцы .песни и фильмы!!! Russia st.Peterburg

  • Do you have a website?

  • Grace, vigor, precision and joy expressed by the dancer. Now a days dancers are lazy with their footwork and poses so when Bharatha natyam is performed correctly it seems to be vigorous and is confused with kathak. No, this is pure Bharatha natyam.

  • wow....this is very good.........after a long time i am feeling the feel of dance...........i was learning it but i have stopped it now for 3 years due to some reasons but now after seeing your performance i am going to meet my dance master again to apologize and start my self again from the beginning thanx a lot sis...........

    what a delightful performance

thank you for sharing it with us

  • I have studied with the best of gurus for about 13 years. The journey is endless and my times these days are spent in the pursuit of rediscovering myself in this art form. The dance evolves with the dancer.. and it is my endeavor to keep this beautiful art meaningful and pure

  • @savithasastry There is divinity in your dance......I saw it with gr8 respect....All the very best.....

  • @savithasastry I am having a question. Shud the music of Bharatnatyam should always be indian classical music? I am having a short video concept...in which i want to use Western music and bharatnatyam together.....I want to show the english song expressed in Indian dance...is it possible?
