You need to use the on-screen button for the video because it's a convenience key for the Picture Camera, meaning if the camera app is launched it'll become a shutter key, but if not in camera app, and you press the "convenience key" it will take you to the camera....make sense?

@kamar56 I have the torch and i really like it. The keyboard makes it allot easier while messaging. If your used to the on screen keyboard then it won't matter but if you want to upgrade for a powerful phone go with the captivate or wait for some of the new 4G att phones coming this summer. The only disadvantage with the new 4G phones is that none have a real keyboard.

I just recently purchased the BB Torch, I had the Curve 8520 and it was an excellent experience, but the camera was deficient and sometimes y had to reset it because of slow performance, but even with that I preferred it over iphone withput any doubts, for me, blackberry is the best business oriented smartphone in the market, and now with the torch I have no doubts that is going to boost my remote performance and client service when working outside my studio. Thank you RIM, keep it up!

wow, the last blackberry phone i had was the storm one, and i must say i wasn't a huge fan of it Of course there were better b phones but the storm in my opinion was pretty awful

The storm was bb's first touch screen but instead of touch, you actually have to press the screen This became a pain as the phone got older and slower

But this phone is something else! Smooth sliders, and looks like a nice proper touch screen! I'm definitely thinking about getting this phone!

I don't go on the INternet on my phone, I see Wi-Fi so I might unless there is a charge. I want a texting and calling phone that looks nice. I love the look of this phone but I also like the Captivate. In your opinion, this or the captivate for the things I've stated above ^. also i like the apps so i also might get this. i wanted the iphone but you need internet so im like nah but this looks great!

I think I'm going to buy this. The only thing stopping me is not having an ipod, becuase I have the iPhone 3GS right now. These look better for communication and they look like they do everything i use my iPhone for: facebook, texting, internet, calling. I really don't use a lot of the other apps other than Maps when I'm lost somewhere.

I know it is not an Android match, but having owned about 6 BlackBerry Devices, 2 being the Storm 1 & 2, I am impressed what RIM has done with OS. and it's overall re-vamping. However; barring that, I am unimpressed the way they underpowered the device, overall opening another flood-way of lag, rebooting issues and Hopefully(dear god, I hope not) battery pulls.

I am a RIM fan, and was super hyped for this device, and while it has some oo's and awe's and memorable functions ... it just irks me ,

@KittyGetAway Mainly because it could of been such a nice device, but the specs are impressive in the area of 2007, and now it just seems like a low-end device and nothing truly competitive. I am sure in a years time they'll advance on the specs and I really wanted to get this device, still do but the small Checkerboard when browsing(See Vid 3) and lag between transitions I know would in tim eget on my nerves and I can't go through 3 years of that again. So in conclusion.. I may sit this one out

@Windows7kicksass I suppose it depends on the type of phone u need. Mainly business-torch. Consumer-captivate. IMO u may get better build quality, business application, and battery life on a blackberry, whereas the samsung gives u a better display, processor, OS, multimedia, and app store etc... if u rly need camera flash and a QWERTY, the this is the best blackberry to get. if u want a entertainment device, go get the Captivate. Both phones are quite diferent, ther both good, its ur choice. :)

@Windows7kicksass I was in the same situation... I was going to get a Torch, but then I played with a Captivate...never heard of it. A droid phone, never really played with one(seeing how I was a BB user)

Blew my mind, still is, I LOVE DROID! BB has A LOT of catching up to do, Apple is just crap with their phone...

I do miss pushed data though :(

Blackberrys always have their own lust factor though...I still do want this phone, even though it is slow and primitive compared to my Captivate

@Windows7kicksass It depends. Do you want a master or a servant?  I had exactly the same dilemma, then I noticed that folks with i-phones/captivates had their faces glued to them 24/7. I got the Torch and I think it's great. It does it's job without being ostentatious. Typically Canadian.
