  • I can't understand ,i heard so many songs sang by michael jackson, who was the first to sing them? What is the name of this band, and where did they come from? Most of these music i know, and have heard of them sang by many artists, but i don't know who was the first to produce them.

  • I just downloaded this mp3 at audiogetnow..com

  • we had the best years

  • Great! Funk on!

  • The band needs to sound stronger, right intention, wrong feel, this is more like POP!

Funk is hard hittin', and soul is more soulful!

    Im looking fo' sum FUNK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @mw94533 you are wrong, pop music is just an abbreviation of popular music

the band is just disco-funk, Blame it on the Boogie is a disco-funk song

all their songs are disco-funk songs

  • @boyxdance The songs may have been recorded by Disco Funk Bands, but THIS band aint funky, no matter what U say,... and POPular music is mainstream and NOT funky. Funk is rare these days, and the term is used VERY loosely,... but FUNK is harder hittin', and SOUL is more soulful. Just because you cover a disco-funk tune, dont mean you sound like the band that recorded it! If U dont know FUNK, then U wont know what I'm talkin bout,.. Funk is an attitude, and feel,. that they dont have!

    Thanks!

  • @mw94533 Funk is not an attitude, and feel,.like you says, funk is a music style, it is a derived style of soul music (influenced by jazz music). Disco is a derived style of funk

Mainstream is not a music style it is an adjetive based on prejudice

i don't talking about if this music is or not mainstream, i am talking about music styles. Pop music (popular music) is all music style or genre different of classical music. Pop music (popular music) includes blues, country ,rock etc.

  • @boyxdance U are absolutely full of it, and I know U dont know what U are talking about. Funk was never influenced by jazz, look at most of the Funk artist of the past, they dont have a history of studying, or playing jazz, and disco never had anything to do with funk, disco is the music of the VERY unFUNKY. In the 70s funk music was popular, and mainstream, BUT because ALL could not play funk,.. disco was created to soften the music that was being produced at the time. Study Funk and then talk!

  • @mw94533 Funk is a soul derived style, IT BEGAN WITH JAMES BROWN. Whereas traditional Soul had its Roots in R&B, the Roots of Funk were in Jazz and African Music. Whereas many Soul aficionados consider Funk and soul to be distinct Genres the term 'soul' is now commonly used to encompass both styles and this can lead to confusion. James Brown's song 'Cold Sweat' (1967) is generally regarded as the first ever 'Funk' composition.

  • @boyxdance Funk is an experience, and NOT a text book study, if U have to study it, U must realize U dont know about it. Even after U study it,... its possible to be incorrect!

  • @mw94533 you are right , because i cited an objetive information. it is an american book about history of soul and funk. Certainly I always base my statements on a reliable source to say something. Then i am not wrong, but i think that you're basing on subjective considerations

  • @boyxdance Listen to Dyke and the Blazers, James Brown, Sly and the Family Stone, any P-Funk, Stevie Wonder, Cameo, Bar-Kays, Ohio Players, ETC..., and then you'll know what funk is! U have to have a funky attitude, and a funky feel to be able to play funky music, and if U dont,... you'll probably sound like this band on the video. If U do study any of the bands above, pay attention to the attitude and feel of the artist performing,.. and then MAYBE you'll know what funk truly is, it aint disco!

  • @mw94533 Funk is a soul derived style and disco is a derived funk style. Whereas traditional Soul had its Roots in R&B, the Roots of Funk were in Jazz and African Music. • @boyxdance Its obvious that Ur reading this from somewhere, and Ur wrong again. I had james brown records B4 he recorded funky music, and funk is generally created by the rhythm section, whether U add horns or not, every funk song with horns, is funky without horns. Just because the IDEA for the horn line in cold sweat came from a jazz song, doesnt mean that the funky rhythm did. PAPAS GOT A BRAND NEW BAG IS VERY FUNKY,. it was released in 1965, and I was there,.. SO Ur wrong again my friend!!

  • @mw94533 you are right , because i am cited an objetive information, it is a american book about history of soul and funk. Certainly I always base my statements on a reliable source to say something. Then i am not wrong, but i think that you're basing on subjective considerations. I can identify any funk song if i listen it. i like "jam" (michael jackson) because it is a hip hop influenced "hard funk " song that includes a rap. it is really an agressive hard funk song

  • @boyxdance Hello! Jam is produced by Teddy Riley,. HE,. at the time produced "New Jack Swing" (a hip hop influenced music).. Jam by M.J. is New Jack Swing, and not "hard funk". Most New Jack Swing songs are hard, aggressive, and include rap,. "Remember the time", "Dangerous", "In the closet", these songs are funky, but not "Hard Funk". Any song M.J. danced to,. was funky, because his dance influence was J.B., who danced funky, because his music is Hard Funk. M.J.=funky,. J.B.=hard funk, 2B cont.

  • @mw94533 a funk song can include horns or not, you are right

  • @boyxdance If U really want 2 hear some hard funky music, listen 2 P-Funk, Sly and the Family Stone, Bootsy's Rubber Band, James Brown, Funkadelic, Zapp, Cameo, Bar-kays, Funk Inc., even Prince from the 80s, etc... Hard Funk usually come from bands of musicians, expressing themselves musically, and mostly from the later 60s, 70s, and early 80s. If U do listen to any of these bands, U will hear the difference,.. Funk is relentless, and U will move with it,.. So please go and try it for yourself!

  • @mw94533 you wouldnt put con funk shun in there? ride and slide is one of my all time favorites

  • @202myCity

Yup,... Con Funk Shun, One Way, Dazz Band, Gap Band, Brick, War, FatBack Band,...

Tower of Power, Graham Central Station,.... oh yeah, how could i forget The Meters,

1 of the early Funk pioneers, Trouble Funk, Ohio Players, Commodores, AWB,...

Slave, and the list goes on and on with great contributers to the history of FUNK!!!

    BUT NOT GLEE!!!!!!!

REAL Music that will NEVER die!!
