right i own a cbr400rr and granted the zxr400 is slightly faster in a straight line. but lets be honest and fair, 400s are not about straight line speed, they are all about the twisties. and sorry an RGV is a great bike but wouldnt beat a 400 imho

i have a zxr400 i raced a cbr400 standing start i won by 5 meters so that is that debait over also my brother has a cbr600 0-60 im right next to him after that he is gone and in the twisties he cant keep up oh and i have also raced an rs250 and he got smoked as well here endith the lesson so you can all stop talking crap

what are you guys running a quarter mile in?. id guess late 12's with the average rider on board..i run a 250 @12.6 quarters so they do definately keep up with 400s,iv only raced a zxr at a hillclimb 1/8mile and smoked him but a full quarter is a different story,vfrs,cbrs etc dont even come close but i have been beaten only once by a tuned gsxr @12.4

the 400cc sport bikes are not fast sorry to say there not much quicker say then the 250cc models and are lot heavier for track racing and your naighbours rgv250 would be far far quicker then your zxr400 sorry to say

Yeah your right 400cc bikes may only have 65hp n weigh alot but my zx4 track bike pisses all ova R1' s and fireblades at brands hatch indie, theres not many bikes that can do that, purley cos the 400 is short stubby and can take a real beating round a track, well belive what you like mate but the evidence is there and I cleaned that 2 stroke out everytime

@adamsoda Im sorry...I have to contradict you there, the RGV is NOT far faster...I've actually done my research properly. Yes the RGV is more than capable of keeping up with the 400 around corners(obviously), but in the straight they are not quite as fast. Cycle World magazine 1991 put the CBR400RR NC29 at a 12.17 second 1/4 mile. The fastest 1/4 mile I have seen for either an Aprilia RS250 or RGV 250(stock) is 12.7 I think...the rest of the times have been in the 13's( by amateurs though)

The rider on the cbr clearly doesnt have a clue. I have had both cbr 400 and zxr 400 and the cbr is quicker out of the box, and similar when tuned.

As for a f360, are you having a laugh! did he get out of second? I now have a 999r and at top end have struggled against cars!

now im not having a laugh. seriously they arent what they all crack upto be. admitidly he didnt really know the roads well and was rubbish with the gears. but still a wins a win! lol. and i have just come back and raced a CBR 400 tonight it was close but i was about 4 bikes ahead and was pulling :)

Perhaps you should come and race me! lol, i have run with every 400 you could imagine on track and not had too many problems. The only bikes i have had trouble with are those pesky strokers, although my cbr was tuned, i could not keep with 85 bhp strokers, well, some of them :-). But hey ho, i suppose as i said, it is down to the rider.

i would gladly on a road. but in all honesty on a track you would probably beat me. i admit that. them strokers are damn fast! next door neighbour has an RGV 250 quick bike upto about 120ish.

cheers mate. yeah i know i have supprised a couple 600s. and i have beat a Ferrari 360 that was probably the best thing. because i know the guy. before i got the bike he said he has beat R1s etc. yet he got spanked quite badly by a 400 haha. is it ok to add you as a friend

lol the 360s arent that impressive i thought i would get destroyed. imprezas i havent raced any yet. only thing i get is silly clowns in 1.4 cars thinking a body kit adds 900hp lol and the odd cavalier etc sometimes being a biker is annoying when you get the clowns trying to race you lol
