You sure know how to fry and you allways manage to make me feel happier than i was before i watched your video.I,m an arkansas guy here we cook just about the same as you do.I love them fried green maters.I allways wait till fall after most of the red ones and get the green ones that will never have time to get big or red then i fry them up.but going do your recipe next time. Thanks paul

  • Hello Granny Mae! how are you? How was your trip to New Orleans?? I think I spelled that right!?

  • Granny Mae what kinda of oil do use? Just vegetable oil or lard? Man that looks good! I never had them. But maybe during the winter time I'll make them! Do you dip them in something? Like ranch dressing? Please write back! And thank you for sharing! =^.^=

  • @FruittisMaris , Thanks For watching. I use Cotton Seed oil to fry, it has a very clean taste but if you cant find it I also use Peanute Oil. Dipping in sauces such as Ranch Dressing would be really nice expecially if your using the fried tomatos as an appitizer, we generaly serve them with a meal so we dont dip but Im going to try that someone soon.

  • @GrannyMaesPlace Why hello Granny Mae, Nice to meet you! I didn't realize that I need to ask you another question about this recipe! Where do you find green tomatoes? Are these the kinda of tomatoes that are not ripe yet? Or is this a different kind? =^.^=

  • @FruittisMaris Well Sweetie they are regular tomatos before they ripen, I make them when my fresh tomatos are in season, but you can do the same things to cucumbers, egg plant, and squash when green tomatos are out of season. Good Luck.

  • @GrannyMaesPlace Could you teach me via the you tube how to make "chicken & dumplings" and "old fashion pot roast" and "beef stew"! I would love to make all of these good ole comfort winter foods! Please? thank you for teaching me so far! Your the best!! ♥ =^.^=

  • Hi

    GrannyMae...

Them thar fried green tomatoes are lookin' mighty tasty indeed (num num). I KNOW for a fact that the 'Buon Apetit Lady' (you know, the one that is dead) NEVER made this recipe (her show was from up in Boston). We folks in the New York metropolitan area appreciate this more than you will ever know, for we don't get good ole Southern cookin' up here. Ro and I are going to give this a whirl in the grease for sure.

    Pax,

    Max

  • It looks yummy, but I am trying to keep my cholesterol down.....I can't really have too much deep friend stuff anymore, but if I could I would surely try them.

  • Thanks for sharing I am going to try your cousins recipe it looks really good. I love fried veggies of all kinds made this way but I have never had a cucumber done that way.

  • These look good. Do you add any cornmeal at all to your? I always have. I am going to try this recipe.

  • @debbiez112 Well Debbie I grew up using either corn meal or a mixture of meal and flour to bread most stuff in but this is my cousins recipie and they are sooo good with just flour and the double dip is really the trick.

  • Lookin' Delicious!!! Mouth watering!

  • I think anything would taste good battered and fried. I'm gonna try me some.
