A very nice little film about how there were so many ideas for inventions by muslim scholars that led to many inventions, but Im actually wondering how many ideas that were only thought of but never passed on....and later thought of by other peoples and finally invented...just because muslim scholars thought of these ideas doesnt mean that every scholar in the world had read them and used those ideas.... still I thought it was brilliant ,and Ben Kingsleys performance was exceptional as always

the muslim world used to be filled with such sophistication and brilliance, such caring and equality toward others. what is happening to that? i admit my western knowledge is lacking and skewed but all i hear now from the lands where these inventors once lived are calls for inequality, draconian canon, forced conversion, rabid reaction-ism, apathetic tolerance at best, and the sound of war drums. may tolerance reach both extremes of the east and west, as both have seen it erode with time's tide.

Most religions have never been friends of innovation - the current minimal state of science in "Muslim" countries is a testament to that fact - so I can only read the title of this video as ironic at its core.Secularise, open your country up to the world, develop a healthy economy, and the innovation will follow.

@scotthenry111 You need to take everything in context. The fact that science in Muslim countries is dead right now is because we barely came out of colonialism, and supplying food and building a country from the ground up is much more important than research.

Truth is, Islam changed the Middle East, and made it the center of knowledge in the world for Centuries. Islam itself weighs science and learning as the purest form of worship. More than prayer. History is longer than 100 years back.

@phallll Muslims were kicked out Europe 500 years ago! There was no Islamic Golden Age. Muslims stole everything from the countries they conquered. Islam is the doctrine of Satan which has never brought anything good to individuals or countries. Science in the Koran is a joke. Koran 18:86 says the suns sets in a murky pool. Islamic laws of inhertiance Koran 4:11-12, don't add up!
