  • This song was used in an episode of the old Hunter TV show. It's the first time I can remember hearing a "real-world" song used as music on a TV show. It's quite a popular practice these days. Hell, even entire show themes are recycled pre-existing songs, and mostly taken out of context as a result. (Yes, I'm looking at you, CSI).

  • Has anyone heard justin bieber's version of this? Its really good.

  • This song has grabbed 13 people by the balls.

  • ever since i heard this song in Jumunji, i've been stuck to it

    Great song!!!

  • I just checked, and . Yup wicca is still gay.. I"ll get back to you all with further updates if it changes...

  • @wiccanfrogqueen we appreciate that. seriously.

  • i think wicca is gay

  • One of the greatest rock songs ever. Fully displays the raw genius of Ian Anderson and Martin Barre!

  • 13 people have been gotten by the balls

  • pure genius <3

  • I think whoever put together this video kind of missed the whole point of this song. One of my favourite songs from the Tull.

  • love the build up to this song...and then it kicks into action.....fantastic

  • I have to learn this song for a cover band I just joined and I HATE it! The flute is NOT rock n roll!

  • @shaindaman13 Probably because they're a prog band. They took all types of music and fused it into their own distinctive style.

  • @11twsister Yeah, I suppose you're right. They had that one song "Aqua lung" i think? it's pretty good. They just aren't my cup o tea. Give me your honest opinion. If you were in a club, would you wanna hear a band cover this song?

  • @shaindaman13 If they did a good job, yes,

  • @11twsister Thanks. We'll do a good job on anything we play or we won't do it. We're as bout a serious cover band as you'll find. Not bragging, it's just a descent outfit. Thanks for your input friend :)

  • @shaindaman13 Other song(s) of note: Bungle In The Jungle and maybe Cross-Eyed Mary if you lived through the time and listened to albums and not just top 100 radio. Plus, Black Sabbath's Tony Iommi played for them for a bit in 1968! That's like being kissed by rock royalty! :)

  • @shaindaman13 Somehow it sounds rock and roll in here at least to me.

  • this is what happen when effing peter pan become adult.

  • Flute: Most manly orchestral instrument?

    I THINK SO.

  • fuck yeah!

  • " You Have GOT! 2 B ! KIIIDDDDIIING ! ! ! , THIS IS REAL MUSIC! AWSUM! ! ! JOB, On Loading It to YouTube, Thnx a Mil.....

  • My ears just came @.@

  • top 10 greatest openings ever

  • Einfach immer wieder gut und purer KULT

  • 12 people listen to justin biber

  • @pdmfisken this is better than justin bieber, way better

  • @pdmfisken that's actually sad that you focus on the people who disliked this video. I'd say, 13 people have a different taste of music. Maybe they are just used to pop. If you had mentioned something about the incredible Flute Solo, that would've been okay. But justin bieber? Shame on you, sir!

  • sì,c'è modo,c'è,di rallentare....qua_sì

  • respect for the post. greetings for Mother Earth from Hellas,Athens! cheers people!

  • @paintedmind go find some dogs to suck off twat

  • @Snigglesnock did someone force you to listen to it? No? Then fuck off back to your bland pop rock.

  • free replay button --> 0:00

  • This is PURE genious.

  • The all time winner has 8 people by the balls

  • Aaaaaa - meeeen ! Allelluiah !!

  • The analogy between train wrecks and addiction is a little younger than locomotives themselves. Bet you don't even know what a Johnson bar is, eh? Hint: it normally protrudes at the same angle as the penis. One step at a time. We came to admit we were powerless over our addiction (2) and that only a higher power could restore us to sanity. He sees the angels jumping off at the stations one by one, his woman and his best friend, in bed and having fun. What drove Casey Jones do what he did?

  • @hankbat5149 biology aside, free will? I got sumthin to say...its better to ....no that's not it. Take no thought in sorrow that my life would end, only that it had no begining. Peace.

  • @hankbat5149 Actually, the song is about man in general and how you must continue in life. To quote Ian Anderson " It's an analogy of the unending train journey of life; you can't stop, you've got to stagger on." But, whatever

  • Ever notice how your hand seems to reach for the volume control and turns up the volume as you are going down the road when this comes on?

  • 1:15

I love pushing the Volume up on the electrical piano at that point!

  • Fuckin' great picture selection!

    Thank you.

  • not about trains?...

  • @hankbat5149 No, not about trains. About an alcoholic on a sure, steady, and unstopable track to self destruction.

  • 3:02 ian anderson mini-spaz.

  • The lyrics make little sense, but it still rocks!

  • @Disco58 No, they're just more complex than sleeping with strangers, such as in disco music.

  • makes me think about that movie unstoppable :)

  • Im 16 bassist in a rock band with a drummer and guitarist who tribute old rock like this, i have put so many hours into learning the piano part just so we play it right. Its so worth it

  • Great song, but this video sucks a wide one. This song is not about trains!

  • @apocalypsepirate I think the video is very good anyway. The song is so driving it really wouldn't have the impact with photos of people. Those in the know will know it's not really about trains...but you know, they used 'trains' as their metaphor for the song. Why not for the video? I saw them in 71 and they were fantastic!

  • @MyMoppet52 You have a very good point there. But the video is way off with the content being only railroad photos. While it would be boring with just people, the right images of people incorporated with intimidating locomotives, would be a real winner. But, I should produce my own before critisizing someone else`s eh? Wow, you saw them live. I am not old enough to have have seen the masters of the 70`s live, but I sure envy those who have.

  • WHY CANT WE HAVE MUSIC LIKE THIS TODAY?? WWWWHHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY?

  • @skywalk553 Unfortunately, there is less a need for true musicians with true talent. With the capabilities that computers possess almost any hack can sound acceptable, and the real sadness is what has become 'acceptable'. Where there was once real drums are now synthesized beats. Accoustic guitars where you could actually hear the strings being struck are gone. Electric riffs that had real definition have given way to fast hard thrash. Harmonizing voices have given way to screech.

  • great song

  • Unsurpassed in 40 years!

  • after listening to both versions i have to say i like w.a.s.p.'s version better. but tull's version's still better than everything that's playin today

  • I'm afraid I only knew of the helloween cover until now, He's playing at a festival I'm going to in the summer so that show I found out about him:)

  • LMAO, Nazis at 2:33.

  • I remember a radio interview with Ian Anderson where he explained how he came up with the flute. He was in a music instrument store looking for something to play, anything really, and he was about to go with a violin, but then he spotted a flute and went with that instead. I'm glad he chose that. What would it have been like with a violin?

  • @TheMrBlinx actually really cool. he would have kicked ass with it. just think. but flute i still think is way more manly and awesome

  • This is one amazing song!! Always loved this one!! Jethro Tull sure put out some great songs!! Takes me back to great days!! This song takes me back to days of true happiness and innocence. I miss those days. My heart just aches for those days. What a time that was! Never to be forgotten! There was a magic in the air back then that you just cant feel today and that is a real shame. This song is pure magic in itself!! Missing those days but hold the memories in my heart forever!! ☺♥

  • a classic.............. what more can you say

  • Wish more musicians used flutes, they always seem to make songs stand above and apart from other traditional setups.

  • @damastashonuff Now only orchestra and school bands. I wish I played flute in the beginner band. Then I could play Jethro Tull!

  • Ian Anderson is the best flute player Ive ever heard. He can play a flute solo like Eddie Van Halen can play a guitar solo.
