Heyyyy Eugene! WOW WHAT A small world!! I hope you like our videos - Most of the clips are from our cable show... Some were taped at the Wellness Center - they are labeled "Fitness Motivators Fit Tips"
According to Grey's Anatomy, the PECTORALIS MAJOR functions as follows (actions): Flexes and Adducts arm - both of my arms (humerus)are performing the action of adduction and flexion. Thank you for your comment...
No offense but watching Grey's Anatomy doesn't give you a medical degree. The pectoralis majors will be worked much less in the exercise with free weights. To make it comparable, you would have to be lying down. Thank you for your response
FYI: Nino is a Doctor (16 years in practice) and everything that we do in class and on our cable show, I use Nino as my reference for safety and facts. I have been doing this for over 27 years and am confident in how I train.
OH. I just realized that you thought I meant "Grey's Anatomy" the TV show oohhhh noooooooo (No wonder you made that commetn above LOL).... I spelled it wrong... It is "GRAY'S Anatomy" - It is a book used in MED school AND as a Reference Book for Doctors. This publication came out WAY before the TV show... 1858 to be exact. Google it and learn more about "Gray's Anatomy". I hope this was useful :)
Ok that makes more sense. However, the workout is still not the same. The free weights are pushing your arms down, the machine is pushing your arms out. There is a difference in the resistance. Lying down though, the weights would push your arms the same way that the machine does. Thanks for writing back.
Okay.... Everyone has their own opinion on how they workout & what works best for them. Perhaps you should make a video of yourself demonstrating this move here - we could have a link to it here and show another point of view...I would truly appreciate that :) By the way, when we do a mat workout in class, we do this same workout in a supine position too. Thank you again and hopefully this subject is closed now :)
Erodica says.. Nino looks BIGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG.....

That will not work the same muscles. This will work the shoulders and the machine will work the chest.
