So many times i fell and my foot went the other way stabbing me do you know how sharp blades are? slammed my head into the ice everything possible pretty much lol my friend cut her whole calf open from skating. Yes hockey has padding but from what i see it looks all plastic. Im just saying everyone has their opinion but no one will really know how bad or easy it is til they try it.

Ok lol i hate when people get in arguements about what sport is worse or you have no clue!! obviously if you never did the sport you wont know but iv been a figure skater for basically my whole life for 16 years. i also play softball basketball and volleyball all those sports are dangerous in their own way i would know. But yes Figure Skating is dangerous, we have no padding to help break our fall its just bone against ice.

@LetsFlyOnceMore Figure skating is dangerous. Pairs Skating, in particular, is very very dangerous. Many times they are going at high rates of speed and are falling on ICE. Skaters can easy break bones and tear up ligaments. Pairs skating is the most dangerous because of being dropped like that can crack skulls... not to mention the skate blades. The pair mentioned below, Dube/Davison, is a perfect example. Dubé was struck in the face by the blade of Davison's skate. It was horrible.

I would like to say the pads and helmets absorb atleast 30% of the impact.... but i would be lying if i said that so learn about my sport before you assume things. @LetsFlyOnceMore thats funny because i do figure skating and horse riding and i've had hardly any bad falls from horse riding but all of my serious accidents come from ice skating , maybe you're just not that good at horse riding? :/
