@rampike74 GPS has an apogee of 20,200 Km. And there are I think 6 orbital planes, so that wherever you are on the planet, you ought to be able to see 4 or more satellites. From a performance issue, this should be possible if GeoSync is possible. But the planes might be tricky, based on launch sites.
Once SpaceX has its Polar orbit launches ready to go from Vandenburg AFB, then that should be covered.
Well done again Mike ! I'm really looking forward to a SPACE X human mission to Mars with Dr. Robert Zubrin as the mission director by 2020 0r 2025 !! NASA can serve as Space Admin. and standards governing body..But NASA glory days are dust,..,It is private big "guns" now !! Keep the videos comming !! New spaceships and rocket etc..Yes we are indeed living in exciting years for space !!
I'm very doubtful of my country's GLXP team, ARCA. They have achieved very little in over 10 years of existence, and they have a very unrealistic platform for GLXP, which was also pointed out by Romania's only man in space, Dumitru Prunariu. My support goes to teams like Astrobotic, I'm especially excited about Astrobotic because they want to land near Tranquility Base and take HD pics of it ^__^
@AlexandruUrsachi I'm sorry you feel that way abaout ARCA. I don't know much about them, but have only seen power point pictures and no hardware. As the time draws closer I'm sure we'll see many cool robots from these teams. I would suggest to all the teams that have the biggest chance of failing to team up with the other least likely to succeed teams. Hmm..
Mike, I want the best teams to win. The ARCA leader, Dumitru Popescu, gave up the Aeronautics Academy to study Theology. I wish them all the best, but... The facts speak for themselves. Going into space isn't a child's game.
You are welcome to come to the commercial Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport at Wallops Island, Va. to learn more about the Taurus-II launches from there beginning late this year.
GPS is not in GeoSync. It is a goofy orbit, almost as hard to reach as GeoSync, but it is very different.

@geoffreycarman
Indeed they aren't. But could they be? Got me thinking actually.

@AlexandruUrsachi wow, too bad for ARCA. But either way, like you, I wish them all the best of luck.

I like the volunteer thing. They seem not interested in hiring me, but heck I'd work for them for nothing (well for a bit).

GPS satellites are not in geostationary orbit.

@oisiaa Your right! Most GPS fly in Mid-Earth Orbit. Thank you for correcting me.
