gee whiz this is a tough audience ? She reached that end note easily and held it at the same volume throughout ......a lovely clip from a very talented soprano ....
i love this, what i hate is that she skipped half of the music just so the e-flat would almost come out. i would prefer an artist doing the full version of this scene to at least sing all of the music and not just leave us with accompanied silence while you prep yourself for a high note that doesn't go so great anyway... otherwise, this is wonderful and i'm really excited to her her sing gilda next season at the met.
Great Nino - a voice beyond imagination

The emotion and drama are compelling.
However, it would be refreshing to hear an Elvira sing her written notes before encrusting the reading with fioritura.
Embellishments aren't embellishments if the object of their embellishment is, itself, also an embellishment.

To be under 30 y/o and not quite as good as J. Sutherland isn't bad.

Brava,fantastica!
Oggigiorno i registi fanno tutto possibile e impossibile per uccidere LA VOCE dei cantanti !
Chi si interessa della bellezza della VOCE?
I Registi Moderni,o i Direttori d'Orchestra,o i Direttori dei Teatri?
NESSUNO !
E i giovani cantanti devono avere il coraggio di resistere!
Magnifica Machaidze!

she has to stop singing for a long while to prepare for that final note... I'm afraid she ain't Joan! Feeble clapping at the end that says it all...

@sutherlandfan64 ew enough. we get it.

@sutherlandfan64 come on, she can easily go to E-flat, i think her pause was the conductor's interpretation.

I totally agree with your viewpoint on the accompanied silence!

@JuillHope17 She isn't as talent as Sumi Jo who sings everything and reaches the Eflat beautifully
