  • I Have the BOSS GT-10 and ill tell ya what the sound coming out of that pedal through my ENGL Savage amp is breathtaking

  • the best very very good cover \ lesson. Bravo

  • hey , it was so good !!! i can actually play it all day because of your help :P thanks .. \m/

  • you're an excellent guitar player!! if you ca break this video up into parts and have a very slow version of each part, that would be very helpful.

  • John petrucci take off the mask! :)))

  • awesome playing and all. but is this a lesson? i could barely keep up.

  • @livetorocknroll88 Man I agree with you. I just didn't notice that while making this. I feel very sorry about that. I might make better one later. again I'm so sorry T T. just consider this as a um..... glasgow kiss cover vid maybe.... sorry;;;;

  • @nachwon its cool bro.. looking forward to the lesson.. :)

  • what gadget are you using?? i used boss gt-8, can you help me with the settings so that i can get the correct tone youre using?? please

  • @rersein I use POD X3 Live with ESP by LTD EC-1000 guitar. I don't think that telling you the exact settings of my POD will be helpful cause you have different one. Look up your GT-8 manual and find which amp model is made based on Mesaboogie amps. Try to find like Mk series or Rectifier models. The tone in the vid was made using dual rectifier model. and go to John Petrucci's home page. They have all the settings that JP uses. It is best if you can do it by ear though.

  • oooo f*** john petrucci left music man. :d great job dude :) btw you gave the preset in pod x3 can we also setup in pod 2.0 as well.

  • @gurlerturker um Ive never have used POD 2.0 but Im pretty sure it will sound different because of that newly added feature called 'dual tone mode' It combines two separate tones into one. I use it all the time. I heard that only X3 or above models have that feature so you won't get the exact same sound as mine but you can still make awesome tones with POD 2.0 cause all the PODs are awesome and great. They are not toys. Trust your gear and don't be afraid to try out new stuffs with it.

  • Could you please list the exact settings you used on your POD? I would highly appreciate this. I just love how accurate it is! :D

  • @Jhnny77Prz instead I'll tell you the settings i used in other glasgow kiss video. it's better.

first, I use POD X3 live. For tone 1, select mesaboogie rectifire amp and 4X12 green 20s for cab. don't use stomp. turn the drive all the way up, bass about 1 or 2 o'clock, mid about 12, treble about 3 or 4, presense all the way up. use ping pong delay for delay and no reverb. for tone 2, it's all same but choose treadplate for cab.

  • @nachwon Thanks a bunch, man. And thanks for replying. :D

  • Ok thank you very much for the lesson! But one question i play now like 7 monthsXD And i can play songs like Plug in baby by muse...do you think that i can learn this within a half year?

  • @ronaldvanhassel2 you can learn a song at any time. not a problem. but being able to play it fluently is a whole different story. I'd say no if you are asking that if you could be able to play this fluently within a half year. It might be possible if you practice this all day every day XD!! But you can still try though. practicing this kinda songs rather than other muse songs or green day kinda stuffs will make you better guitar player. not saying their music suck but it's true they'reway easier

  • not slow enough

  • great lesson its clear bro tnx \m/

  • horrible lesson

  • @Laykoz7 And your problem is?

  • thats the rigth usage of that pick

  • This video is corrupted or something, it wont play for me

  • this is the best video lesson on this song for 3 reasons:

1 you play very well the song

2 you use alternate picking in the intro (how petrucci does)

3 rolling the ring finger, the best way to do the song!

  • O.o can create new video for me..bcause u too fast

  • nice played:)

  • Are You John Petrucci??

  • hey man you're really good ....

    congratulations

    keep it up

  • awesum dude ....u rokkk..

  • great..."go up to your address bar, put the letter "Q" between the words you and tube and then press enter or click go" When you are finished, check your email!

  • How can i find correct tabs of glasgow kiss?

  • Awesome, what skill level would you need to be at to play this decently?

i.e. 1 years worth of guitaring etc.

    Thanks :)

  • @0C0dy0 Ive been playing for 7 years and know quite a bit of music theory also, and i can barely nail the intro.

  • well, covering this song doesnt really require any music theories i think

umm Ive been playing guitar for 3 years now but I taught myself so I dont really know any music theories.

But still I can play this song pretty decently...

I think it depends on how often you practice or how well you practice lol

the key skill to play this song is alternative picking. I saw many people playing the intro with sweep picking but thats definitly not how you play the intro. so practice picking well and often!!

  • :D Haha that's awesome mate, i've been playing PROPERLY since Xmas lol, had a shite strat copy the year before but i don't count that :)

But tbh i don't know any music theory save for the acoustic guitar lessons i had when i was 9..

I'm a fast learner :) so i'll have a look at trying the intro out when my amp comes through the post :) thanks mate for the reply anyway.

  • Well, it really only matters what you feel comfortable with, either one works, and I don't sweeping vs. alt. picking really makes a difference in terms of efficiency. I find the sweeping to be easier, to be honest.

  • Yes, that is true! Sweep vs. alt picking doesnt really make a difference in terms of efficiency if you are really good at both, but the reason why I suggested to use alt picking is that how you pick makes a difference in terms of tone. and it's a big difference. If you like to play with sweep picking, that's definitly fine but just know that there is a difference in tone. And sometimes try to play with a skill that you dont feel that comfortable with. it's really good for you!

  • Awesome Vid man!!! How did u get that tone??!! sounds exactly like petrucci's tone!! Mesa Mark V? an ESP eclipse.

  • Im using POD X3 Live in this video

  • Great lesson vid
