  • PURO AMORE.

  • i had listened to this song but i didnt read the lyrics... and i was so moved when i listened to them because it was exactly what i had on my mind... yann tiersen fills my soul

  • Magnific...<3

  • "hard, not to break down and cry"....

    "But you must

    carry on."

    "It's hard,

but you know it's worth the fight"

    ..........

Amazing song! Such a strong message within the piano tones, hope... there´s no sadness. Cheer up! Stand up and go! Go and fight for what you want, need...

because who cares what cowards think anyway.

  • szép

  • this oughta be sung by rufus wainwright

  • ¡¡Hermosisimo!!. Tanta sensibilidad junta, hecha musica. Emocionante.

  • it's sooooooooooo beautiful =) I'd love to play and sing it too...does anybody know where to get the piano sheet music from?

  • love it *__*

  • love it.

  • I need to listen this music everyday unless, I'll get crazy.

But I have to carry on... and one day they'll understand that I was always right and they was completely wrong.

  • I LIKE IT !!! :D

  • I should had imagined that Hannon and Tiersen would had worked toghether :)

    genious

  • Oh. C'est tout bizarre :)

  • Yes this is not neil hannon ( but he did the studio version). here this is Christian Quermalet in this live one ( available in the live album " C'était ici " in which C.Quermalet plays drums)

  • this is not neil hannon

  • waiting for someone to do a piano solo of this piece...

    my favorite tiersen piece...

    which is saying something...

  • I recomend you *my hunny*-Chopin1986

    tear

  • @douglassmcann how about a violin solo? i think i would listen to it 24/7

  • This is not Neil, if you know his voice you can clearly see it's not his voice, even if it's a little similar. He does the studio version, and another live one, but this one isn't.

  • bella

  • Yes, it is Neil Hannon Singing and you can find the instrumental in the Amélie Soundtrack

  • It's Neil Hannon singing innit? It sounds like him anyway. Either way it's good

  • Fantastic song.. Does anyone have the piano music for it? or know where I can get it? thanks..

  • I recomend you *My hunny*-Chopin1986,

He will do for you.I am sure -

    his woman-Tear

  • beautiful

  • Yes, I've always thinking it was Tiersen's voice... I don't think that Neil Hannon is singing on that song...

  • Comment removed

  • His voice makes me think of that of Peter Steel .

  • I'm not sure, but I think it's sung by

    Christian Quermalet!

It's on the album of Yann Tiersen" C'etait ici"!

  • Ich liebe es!

  • the song is awesome...

  • no matter who´s singing!

    Damn, this voice is terrific!

  • Who writes the lyrics?

  • This version, while very good, is not sung by Neil Hannon. Trust me, I'd recognize his voice through a metal wall, vocoder, tin can, under water, etc. This isn't it! :)

  • Musica realmente hermosa, he inspiradora!!! ME ENCANTA.

  • Sembra un'altra canzone....non la mitica di sempre....non mi affascina molto...ma la voce è sempre dolcissima...

  • concordo !

  • is it really neil singing? i mean his voice sounds so different here..

  • No, this is a different version from the one on the album L'Absent. I'm not sure who's singing, but it definitely isn't Neil!

  • it is yann tiersen himself i think,

  • epic!!!!!!

  • The background sound, is it from "Le fabouleux destin d'Amélie Poulain" ? I mean, just with lyrics ?

  • It's from Yann Tiersen's live performance at Cité de la Musique in Paris 2002. The CD is called Cétait ici.

  • Yes; lyrics performed by Neil Hannon. The original is also called Les Jours Triste.

  • Actually this song was on an album by yann tiersen and the music without lyrics got used to be part of the soundtrack of the movie... Like all the titles of the soundtrack by the way

  • Assez particulier comme chanson, mais intrigante.

  • the voice sounds like luka bloom, but it's hannon

  • yes it is neil :) its a live version from the album C'Était Ici

  • @m8ttie neil hannon sung on the studio version but for playing live he got christian quermalet to sing neil hannon's part. he sounds very similar to neil but you can tell it's not neil hannon. i was lucky enough to see yann tierson live in 2002 in germany, was probably the best concert ever. was amazing!!

  • @m8ttie It's not Neil Hannon here... it's Christian Quermalet. It says so in the booklet of the CD.

  • @vosvolvlinders

it's Christian Quermalet from the married monk, i'm sure about that!

  • this is the song i want to be played on my funeral alongside how it ends by devotchka

  • It is NOT Neil Hannon. Must be Yann Tiersen's version-you can hear the accent. 'Geronimo' from Promenade album is the song about 2 lovers running for shelter from a downpour (Superstrings).

  • sublime

  • It´s not Neil singing!!! It´s Yann and he has a gret voice too :)

  • you sure?

  • yep... i know too well Neil's and Yann's voices. Trust me ;)

The tone of their voices are very diferent!!!

And Tiersen can speak and sing in English very well... without accent he he

  • alright. I'll take your word for it :)

I just find it a little strange that I can't find anywhere written who sings this apart from things like this that says that it's neil hannon.

On wiki it says that it's a 'collaboration' but still doesn't name who's singing it. Although this did appear on a divine comedy B side. it also said lyrics were added later. Made me think it was neil hannon.

Hmm...this whole subject confuses me. haha!

  • It's actually some guy called Christian Quermalet, who sang the song in a live performance that can be found elsewhere on youtube.

Neil Hannon does sing on the album version, and I believe also wrote the lyrics. Hope this helps.

  • ahhh! Thankyou!!

    bigbigBIG help.

  • I think singer is Neil Hannon, not Tiersen... not Yann voice here..in my humble opinion ^^

  • it is because neil hannon is the singer from divine comedy.

    Brilliant, eh?

I'm not even sure Tiersen can speak english can he? He always strikes as the shy- non talkative type.

  • It's so amazing!

  • This is Yann Tiersen singing. Neil Hannon did do a version but the person who posted this obviously got mixed up.

    ...STILL A BRILLIANT VERSION THOUGH!

  • Neil appeared live a few times and one gig was put on a live cd, however I forget which. Yann and Neil are frequent collaborators though and both versions do rule. There's one song about a couple running from a storm in which Neil sings which is beyond brilliant.

  • It's Yann. Accent there and it def aint Neil.

Song about 2 lovers running from downpour is 'Geronimo.' - Promenade album.

  • This is Niel Hannon singing. I'm absolutely positive. I also though Yann Tiersen only did instrumentals. So it's probably a compilation of the two as the poster suggested

  • It's not Neil Hannon singing, doesn't sound anything like him.

  • definitely neil hannon.

Just think about 'national express' and try to put two and two together.

  • La musique de Yann et la voix sont parfaites pour rendre authentique l'atmosphère d'un triste jour...

    Bravo !
