  • I have one of these digital ammeters also. I have yet to get it to work right. I have it is series to try and read how many amps my wind turbine is producing but all I can get out of it is -1 or some flashing random numbers that don't seem to be a measure of anything. I tried emailing the seller on ebay I bought it from and they just keep sending me those same pdf schematics which just isn't very clear with instructions for my application. I would really like to find someone who could help!

  • Connect the turbine's negative wire in series with the shunt.Connect the meter to read off the two small screws beside each main terminal. The meter has a voltage regulator to enable connection to a 12volt supply to power-on the unit. The meter has two seperate circuits,1 to power-on and 1 to read the ampage.I could draw a schematic for you if you post your email address,Good luck.(hope you haven't allready blown it)

  • @terryblount163 Thanks for the reply Terry. Your description of the process was plain enough and I hope I haven't already blown it up also.

  • use a program called "CamStudio" to record your screen then post that

  • basically you cant use the ampmeter with the same power supply, it is crap I know ! you should use 2 power supply, first one is to power the ampmeter, the 2 second connected to ampmeter measuring amp o:)

  • A motor vehicle only has ONE power supply. The digital ammeter requires a stabalised Voltage,& has a built in voltage regulator. The ampage is read via the shunt,it works in the same way as a multimeter, both devices are capable of reading high ampage, but you will 'fry' them if you exeed the rating of them. This is the reason for the shunt, the shunt is connected in series with the power suppply to the device you wish to measure, the ammeter reads from the shunt,in mili amps.shunt & meter are matched

  • i have one of these and I cannot get it to work, it is a 50A digital ammeter, with shunt, (says "regulator").. any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!
