First, being LGBT is NOT a choice anymore than being straight was a conscious choice for you. Gay and transgender traits usually present at around age 4-6. Neither is a 'defect" It is simply a different development and cannot be altered or removed in any way. Also, Jesus did not say a single word about LGBT folks anywhere.

Very few "Christians" follow the teachings of the Old Testament, probably because it details God's relationship to man as father/son. The New Testament brings the teachings as brother/brother since, as in the last book of the Old Testament: Malachi, we just didn't quite get the message, and God changed his approach. Bill, I love your videos, But you should know that there are "liberal" Christians and "conservative" Christians. Methodists, Lutherans, Catholics, Episcopaleans are liberal. Baptist are conservative. However, I don't think there is anything wrong with using other versions as study aides. Each other version has their draw backs, and as long as your aware of what they are when using them I am sure any thinking person like yourself will be just fine. :)

I've known Christians who also believed in evolution.
I believe in intelligent design, a Creator...and the original story in Genesis-from the Hebrew translation of the book the Torah. For instance...the original verse 'In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth'...This verse actually means in the Torah 'At the start Yahweh created the expanse and matter.' So there is much more to gain from the literal translation. Keep on learning....Hope the best for you....

There is no reasoning from that point...no common denominator by which anything can be mutually-agreed upon. I've even tried the "Natural Law" approach. You'd think that the consequences and pain of violating Natural Law (nature) would be a good teacher for atheists; but it's not. Their religion forbids logic.

@DangerousJames0 I hate to have to correct you...but ask the wives who married perfectly normal men who ended up coming out "gay" and shaming their wives (seriously, you don't know what it's like to hear the words "Baby, I'm so sorry...but I think I might be gay"). Can you even imagine the devastation that causes? It causes a woman to doubt her feminity, her worth as a woman, it absolutely kills the children, etc. It absolutely does ruin lives.

Are you really blaming their sexuality for that? If they came out as gay, they were never 'normal' to begin with. Maybe if society wasn't so ridiculously homophobic, maybe if people stopped being told that homosexuality is a choice, and a sin, these men would be able to come to terms with their sexuality sooner, instead of trying to repress it until they realise years into a marriage that it simply can't be done.

I hate Islam as much as I hate Christianity and Judaism. Islam by itself is not evil. Islam left to thrive within a theocratic state such as the current politics in the middle east is evil. Were Christianity in a similar theocratic state (i.e the entirety of the Dark Ages) and given modern technology, there would be Christian suicide bombers that would be slitting raped women's throats. Secondly, Israel is far from a peaceful nation. I say this not because I have some pro-Islam, anti-Jew agenda, but rather because I have a rather strong anti-religion agenda. Regardless of how people of different faiths are treated relative to those of the national faith, it is how people in general are treated there: unjustly, and theocratically. Also, where in the equation did "death cults and mass killers" come into it?
